CheckedSafe is a cloud-based compliance platform for operators managing vehicles, drivers, plant and workplace risks. It is aimed at transport, logistics, construction, utilities, public transport and other regulated operations. Drivers use iOS and Android apps for mobile defect reporting and inspections, while managers work through a web portal for administration, maintenance records and reporting. An API is also available for organisations that need system-level integration.

Pricing is modular and usage-based rather than organised around conventional monthly or annual plans. Vehicle Compliance costs £1 per vehicle per week and includes unlimited driver app downloads, mobile defect reporting, DVSA-compliant workflows and GPS location tags. Driving Licence Checks cost £1.60 per check, while GB Domestic Hours, Lone Worker and Dynamic Risk Assessment each cost £1 per user per week. Plant Compliance costs £1 per asset per week. A 30-day trial is available, while Licence Checks do not include a free trial. Invoices are issued monthly in arrears.

The strongest fit is for teams that need a broad compliance toolkit without paying for advanced driver-monitoring features. Alongside vehicle checks, CheckedSafe covers domestic driving hours, fatigue management, lone-worker SOS alerts, dynamic risk assessments, plant checklists and DVLA ADD licence data. Offline inspections are useful where connectivity is inconsistent, and REST API access can support wider operational workflows. The trade-off is a compliance-led approach with manual event detection: fleets looking for verified AI detection, risk scoring, video evidence or coaching should consider a more specialised alternative. CheckedSafe suits budget-conscious operators focused on documented processes, inspections and regulatory administration.

CheckedSafe pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • £1 per vehicle per week for core vehicle compliance
    • Offline inspections with GPS-tagged checks and defect alerts
    • Adds licence checks, hours tracking and risk assessments
  • Where it doesn't
    • Event detection is manual rather than AI-based
    • No verified risk scoring, video evidence or coaching
    • Only listed integration is REST API access
