Check Point CloudGuard Data Security is a data security posture management capability within CloudGuard CNAPP. It helps mid-market and enterprise security teams identify cloud workloads and storage assets containing sensitive information, assess their exposure and permissions, detect misconfigurations, and prioritize risks across multi-cloud environments. The product is aimed at organizations that need a consolidated view of sensitive data, cloud identity entitlements, and configuration context rather than a narrow inventory of storage assets.

Its main differentiator is contextual risk analysis. CloudGuard combines data sensitivity, public exposure, permissions, configuration, and application context to score risk and guide remediation. Classification covers PII, PCI, PHI, credentials, and other categories, while the dashboard prioritizes the risks that security teams need to address. It can identify internet-exposed sensitive storage assets, analyze excessive cloud permissions, detect misconfigurations, and provide recommended remediation. A 30-day free trial is listed, and the deployment model is cloud-based with web and API access.

Integration fit is central to the product. Documented connections include Amazon Macie, Microsoft Purview, Cyera, and Sentra for data-sensitivity classification, alongside AWS Security Hub, Amazon GuardDuty, AWS CloudTrail, and AWS VPC Flow Logs. The broader integration catalog lists 50 integrations, giving multi-cloud teams a way to aggregate signals from existing security and data platforms. That reliance is also the main consideration: teams seeking standalone discovery and classification may prefer a more self-contained DSPM tool. CloudGuard Data Security is a strong fit for organizations already operating CloudGuard CNAPP or coordinating several cloud-security integrations; smaller teams or buyers wanting an independently packaged DSPM product should assess alternatives.
