Chainloop review
Open-source evidence management with policy gates and enterprise governance options.

Chainloop is a software supply chain governance platform for engineering, security, and compliance teams. It centralizes artifacts, SBOMs, vulnerability reports, attestations, provenance, and other software delivery evidence, then connects that evidence to repository and CI/CD workflows. Its open-source Community Edition supports self-hosted evidence management, while Chainloop Platform adds governance and enterprise deployment options.
The standout capability is the combination of evidence management and release assurance. Chainloop supports SBOM collection and continuous scanning workflows, signed and verifiable attestations, artifact and provenance tracking, and policy evaluation across SBOMs, vulnerabilities, signatures, and source commits. Release and pull-request quality gates connect those checks to delivery decisions, while compliance frameworks and reporting provide visibility for governance work. GitHub and GitLab integrations anchor repository workflows, with Dependency-Track, GUAC, webhooks, SMTP/email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, and Linear extending the surrounding ecosystem.
Pricing is split between a free Community Edition and the Chainloop Platform. Community Edition includes a unified evidence store, a policy and compliance framework engine, open-source integrations, and community support. The Platform adds a governance UI, curated policy and compliance framework catalogs, vulnerability management, advanced DevSecOps integrations, enterprise SSO, and cloud, BYOC, and airgapped deployment options; its pricing is handled through contact sales. Choose Chainloop if your team wants open-source control over supply chain evidence and policy-driven release gates. Teams needing enterprise identity, curated catalogs, or managed deployment should evaluate the Platform, while teams seeking those capabilities without a sales-led pricing process may prefer an alternative.
