Our verdict on Cedar Creek Internet Filter
Cedar Creek Internet Filter is a network-based content filtering service for families, schools, and businesses. Its filter box sits between an internet modem and Wi-Fi router, allowing connected devices to be protected without device-level installation. The service also provides a Windows filter application and a web-based administrative dashboard. Controls include filtering across 70 content categories, custom website blacklists and whitelists, time limits, access controls, accountability reports with email alerts, and badware blocking for ransomware, phishing, and malware. It is best suited to small networks that want straightforward category filtering across a home or business connection.
Pricing is split between family and business use. The Family Plan costs 15 per month and includes the filter box for up to 15 devices. A one-time 100 installation fee applies to that plan. The Business Plan costs 12 per computer per year and lists an optional enterprise firewall; its one-time installation fee is 100. The published plans show separate approaches for households and businesses, while the service is listed for Canada and the USA. Phone and email support are available. Buyers should account for the installation charge when comparing the total cost of deployment.
The main strength is its network-based design: a router-based filter box can protect connected devices, while Windows coverage is available through a dedicated application. Category filtering, custom lists, scheduling, access controls, and email-based accountability reports cover the core needs of a small network. The trade-off is a narrower platform footprint centered on Windows and router deployment, alongside basic reporting. Choose Cedar Creek for simple network controls, malware-related blocking, and scheduled access restrictions. Consider another product if you need broader device-platform coverage or more detailed reporting.
