Canadian Payroll is a cloud-based payroll tool for small Canadian businesses that need payroll calculations and records rather than payment processing. It calculates CPP and EI, including CPP2, and federal, provincial and territorial payroll deductions, with Quebec QPP and QPIP support. It also creates pay stubs, T4 slips and Records of Employment (ROEs). The narrow focus suits employers who can handle paying staff and independently verify remittances; businesses seeking payroll funds to be sent automatically should look elsewhere.

The published annual plans are Starter at CAD 250, Small at CAD 500, Growing at CAD 750 and Team at CAD 1,000. Each lists unlimited pay runs, T4 and ROE, support for all provinces and Quebec QPP/QPIP, and year-round access to past data. Starter is priced for up to 5 employees. The product is paid, with no free plan. These tiers share the same listed highlights, so buyers should compare them against their headcount needs rather than expecting additional capabilities from the plan names alone.

The calculation and record-keeping scope is the main fit distinction. The tool tracks percentage-based or accrued-days vacation policies and balances, calculates province-specific statutory holiday pay, and exports T4s and ROEs as PDFs. Employers prepare payment by cheque or e-transfer; Canadian Payroll says it does not handle the money. Its calculations are based on formulas from the CRA’s published T4127, but the vendor states it is not CRA-certified or affiliated with the CRA and advises independent verification of remittances. The Trust Center says new account creation is currently paused, while existing users can still sign in, so it is not a practical choice for a business trying to start a new account now.
