C2000Ware is Texas Instruments’ software development kit for C2000 real-time microcontrollers, aimed at developers building applications on supported C28x devices. It combines device-specific peripheral drivers, DriverLib source code, bitfield headers, support files, examples, configuration tools, libraries, utilities, documentation, and hardware collateral. Its focus fits control and power applications that need access to C2000 peripherals, real-time processing, and embedded communications rather than a cross-architecture development environment.

The published package is available at no charge and includes a broad set of development components. These include DSP, math, digital-control, cryptography, and calibration software, along with USB, PMBus, CAN, Ethernet, EtherCAT, HIC, FSI, Flash, and Live Firmware Update support. C2000 SysConfig provides peripheral configuration and code generation, while PinMux supports pin configuration and device visualization. FreeRTOS and C2000 TI-RTOS support are also included. Developers can work with Code Composer Studio projects and SysConfig, or start through TI’s cloud-based tools and Resource Explorer. Windows, Linux, and macOS installers are available.

C2000Ware is a strong fit for teams committed to TI C2000 hardware and looking for a broad vendor-provided software base without a package charge. Its examples, drivers, libraries, communications support, and flash utilities can cover much of the early application-development stack. The trade-off is its narrow architectural scope: teams targeting other processor families should choose a more general toolchain. Licensing also requires review because the distribution uses a commercial license model for several included components, despite the package being downloadable at no charge. Choose C2000Ware for C28x-centered control and power work; look elsewhere for multi-architecture development or a package with a verified integrated debugger.
