BytePlus GTM review
A cloud GTM service with geographic and intelligent routing, priced per instance per day.

BytePlus GTM is a cloud DNS traffic management service for organizations directing traffic across multiple service endpoints or locations. It applies routing policies to DNS queries and returns configured target addresses; clients then connect directly to those addresses. That makes it relevant to mid-market and enterprise teams that need geographic distribution, endpoint health monitoring, or failover, rather than a proxy that carries application traffic.
Routing depth is a central strength. Basic routing supports geolocation and optional weight-based load balancing, while intelligent routing can account for latency and capacity. Teams can manage targets, addresses, pools, pool sets, and rules, and use real-time traffic analysis and event tracking. Health checks use ICMP, HTTP, HTTPS, or TCP probes, with automatic failover when an address or pool set becomes unavailable. GTM APIs cover instance, policy, rule, health-check, and pool management. The service deploys records to BytePlus authoritative DNS servers, so its fit depends on a DNS-based approach to directing traffic.
The published plans show pay-as-you-go pricing of $0.014 per GTM instance per day for Standard Edition and $0.14 per GTM instance per day for Ultimate Edition; Intelligent routing is listed for Ultimate. Those rates do not represent the full service cost: DNS queries and health checks are charged separately. Monthly billing requires contacting sales. BytePlus lists documentation as a support channel. Teams should consider GTM when they want cloud-based DNS routing with health checks and failover and can account for usage-based charges. It is a less suitable choice for buyers seeking routing through a traffic proxy or a monthly price they can determine without contacting sales.
BytePlus GTM pros and cons

- Automatic failover across addresses and backup pool sets
- Where it doesn't
- DNS query and health-check charges add to the instance rate
- Monthly billing requires contacting sales
