BoxCast is a cloud live-video platform for organizations producing worship services, virtual events, hybrid meetings, sports, and community programming. For churches, it combines browser-based production with distribution, scheduling, recordings, captions, chat, analytics, embedding, and privacy controls. Producer runs in a web browser and supports layouts, screen sharing, presentations, overlays, webcams, and capture devices. The platform also supports web, iOS, Android, and API access, with optional branded OTT apps and hardware encoders.
Pricing is aimed at organizations with a recurring streaming budget. Standard costs $109 per month when billed annually or $119 per month when billed monthly, providing 1080p30 streaming, unlimited destinations, automated recorded-broadcast captioning, 90 days of storage, and one concurrent broadcast. Deluxe costs $169 annually or $189 monthly and adds graphic overlays and one year of storage. Advanced costs $249 annually or $279 monthly, adding 1080p60 streaming, automated live captioning, API access, and three concurrent broadcasts. The 4K plan costs $449 annually or $499 monthly and adds 4K60 streaming, three concurrent broadcasts, 30 days of 4K storage, and API access. A 14-day free trial is available, but there is no free plan.
Its main strength is breadth across production and distribution. BoxCast can send broadcasts to websites, Facebook, YouTube, X, smart-TV apps, and other destinations, while integrations include Twitch, Instagram, RTMP, Vimeo, Faithlife, Hopin, Chromecast, Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV. Cloud transcoding and adaptive-bitrate playback support varied viewer connections, while recording downloads, trimming, and exports to YouTube and Vimeo extend the value of each service. Choose BoxCast when a church needs mature workflows, multistreaming, captions, archives, and platform development options. Smaller organizations seeking a low-cost or single-purpose streaming tool may find its entry price and tier structure excessive.
