Blumira combines cloud SIEM and security operations for small and mid-sized IT teams, particularly organizations without a dedicated security operations center. It collects and correlates data from cloud services, endpoints, network devices, and identity platforms, then uses managed detection rules to surface prioritized findings. Real-time alerts, investigation reports, dashboards, compliance reporting, and response playbooks support the work from detection through response. Its web and API platforms and cloud and on-premises integrations suit teams bringing several security sources into one service.

Pricing is monthly per employee. Detect costs $12 and includes cloud and local network SIEM visibility, pre-tuned detections, one-year log retention, compliance-ready reporting, and voice, email, and text notifications. Respond costs $16 and adds Blumira Agent endpoint detections, honeypots, host isolation, process termination, dynamic blocklists, and 24/7 incident support. Automate costs $21 and adds SOC Auto-Focus AI analysis, automated containment and dynamic blocklists, API access, and white-glove onboarding. The published plans show a 30-day free trial, but no free plan. Custom detections are available on higher tiers through Blumira's detection engineers; end users are not shown authoring detection logic directly.

Integrations include Microsoft 365, AWS, Google Workspace, Okta, firewalls, and endpoint providers, giving teams a way to connect cloud, identity, network, and endpoint sources. The tier progression also matters: teams that need only managed visibility and reporting can start with Detect, while containment and incident support require Respond or Automate. Choose Blumira if managed detections and an option to add response automation matter more than direct control over detection-rule logic. Teams seeking to author custom rules themselves should consider alternatives that provide that capability directly.

Blumira pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Managed detections cover cloud, endpoint, network, and identity data
    • Detect includes one-year log retention and compliance-ready reporting
    • Higher tiers add containment, incident support, and automation
  • Where it doesn't
    • No free plan; monthly pricing starts at $12 per employee
    • Custom detection rules require a higher tier and Blumira's detection engineers
    • API access is limited to the Automate plan
