Bloombase KeyCastle review
A self-hosted key-management platform with broad standards and client support.

Bloombase KeyCastle is a self-hosted enterprise key-management and cryptographic-services platform for organizations protecting sensitive data. It manages private signature keys, public signature-verification keys, authentication keys, data-encryption keys and certificate-authority certificates. Its lifecycle controls include key generation, import, protected storage, validation, activation, revocation, destruction and distribution. Teams can deploy it as a standalone network key server or as an embedded component within Bloombase security servers.
KeyCastle fits environments that need standards-based integration rather than a single application-specific key store. It supports PKCS#11-compatible hardware security modules, OASIS KMIP-compatible key managers, RDBMS, generic LDAP, OpenSSL and Java JCA/JCE. Client access is available through PKCS#11, OpenSSL, Java JCA/JCE and web-service interfaces, while a web-based management console provides central administration. High-availability operation is supported through active-active or active-standby configurations. The product is available across web, Windows, macOS and Linux environments.
Its main strength is breadth across key types, lifecycle actions, cryptographic interfaces and infrastructure components. Certificate authority support includes certificate validity and revocation checks, which suits deployments managing both encryption and signing materials. KeyCastle is a strong fit for self-hosted teams that need HSM connectivity, KMIP compatibility and centralized control across varied clients. Organizations seeking a narrowly scoped cloud service, publicly listed pricing or documented automated rotation and audit logging should evaluate alternatives that make those capabilities central to the product.
