Bill4Time is cloud-based time tracking and billing software for law firms, consultants, and other professional service businesses. It records real-time or manual entries, supports multiple simultaneous timers, and connects work to clients, matters, projects, tasks, and billing codes. Teams can mark time as billable or non-billable, apply custom rates, track expenses, generate invoices, and manage client and project information. Access is available through web, Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and an API, with desktop and mobile applications supporting offline entry storage and synchronization.
Pricing is organized by monthly and annual billing. The annual Time & Billing plan is $39 per user per month and includes time tracking, task management, client management, expense management, invoicing, and reporting. Monthly pricing for the same plan is $49 per user per month. Time & Billing Enterprise costs $69 annually or $79 monthly and adds customizable data fields, a dedicated account manager, advanced data import, and advanced customizable reports. Legal Pro costs $59 annually or $69 monthly and adds trust accounting, conflict checking, contingency billing, task workflows, and LEDES export. Legal Enterprise costs $89 annually or $99 monthly and adds customizable data fields, custom LEDES export, a dedicated success specialist, and advanced data import. A 14-day free trial is available.
The strongest reason to choose Bill4Time is its matter-focused billing depth. Calendar events and tasks can become time entries, recorded time can flow into invoices, and exports cover time entries, matters, invoices, and expenses. QuickBooks, calendar sync, Box, and NetDocuments support connections with common business workflows. Mobile time, expense, client, and invoice management, plus offline synchronization, suit teams working away from a desk. Legal teams that need trust accounting, conflict checking, contingency billing, or LEDES workflows should consider the legal tiers. Smaller teams seeking a free plan or a lower-cost basic timer should look elsewhere.
