BELLOWS review
A capable browser audio engine for developers, but not an AI music generator.

BELLOWS is a free, open-source JavaScript audio engine that runs in a web page. It is designed for developers and music-technology creators building browser-based instruments, generative music tools, and audio applications. Its scope covers browser-native synthesis, drum machines, samplers, SoundFont and SFZ sample support, sequencing, effects, MIDI, offline WAV rendering, and audio analysis. An interactive instrument and workbench provide a direct way to explore the engine’s capabilities, while npm and CDN installation support development workflows.
Its strongest fit is the web platform. BELLOWS brings together synthesis, sequencing, musical theory and tuning tools, effects such as delays, reverbs, compression, and EQ, plus MIDI file and Web MIDI support. Offline rendering to WAV is useful for applications that need export without relying only on live playback. Audio analysis adds pitch, onset, tempo, key, and loudness detection, giving developers building blocks for music tools that can respond to or inspect audio. The Apache-2.0 license also supports commercial use.
BELLOWS is not an AI music generator, so it is a poor match for buyers seeking prompt-based song creation, generated vocals, or complete AI-produced tracks. It also does not present a paid tier structure; its value is in the open-source engine and the components developers can incorporate into their own browser experiences. Choose BELLOWS when control, browser delivery, audio building blocks, and extensibility matter more than a finished music-generation interface. Choose an AI-focused product instead when the primary goal is generating complete music rather than building the underlying audio application.
