BeeGFS is a software-defined parallel file system for high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, research, and other data-intensive workloads. It distributes file data and metadata across multiple servers, while adding capacity and throughput through nodes and disks. Linux clients and servers can access a global namespace with POSIX semantics, making BeeGFS a focused option for organizations running high-performance Linux environments across on-premises, private-cloud, sovereign-cloud, or hybrid deployments.

The published plans show two editions: Community Edition and Hive Enterprise. Community Edition is free and has a 60-day free trial, with the official product page stating a 1 PB capacity limit. Enterprise adds commercial support and capabilities including metadata and file-content mirroring, quota enforcement, storage pools, remote storage targets, indexing, and background data rebalancing. Enterprise pricing is handled through sales, so organizations evaluating the paid tier should compare its support and expanded data-management capabilities with their operational requirements.

BeeGFS fits environments that need parallel file access, policy-based data tiering, and systemwide performance and health monitoring through Grafana dashboards. It supports TCP/IP, InfiniBand, Omni-Path, RoCE, and S3-compatible targets, with integrations for S3-compatible storage, Grafana, and NVIDIA GPUDirect Storage. BeeOND adds on-demand file systems for temporary workloads. Organizations seeking high-performance distributed storage on Linux should shortlist BeeGFS; teams requiring broader listed platform coverage or a simpler general-purpose storage product should consider alternatives.
