Our verdict on Barkeep
Barkeep is liquor inventory and cost-tracking software for bars, clubs, restaurants, and hospitality teams. Its iOS app lets operators count beverage stock, including partial bottles recorded by decimal quantity or weight. Barcode scanning, speech-based quantity entry, and supported Bluetooth scales provide several ways to capture counts. BarkeepOnline adds browser-based access, while BarkeepPro extends the system for multi-venue operations and staff administration.
Pricing is organized around three plan options. BarkeepApp costs $39.99 as a one-time purchase and includes iOS inventory management, barcode scanning, Bluetooth scale support, and Speech Mode. BarkeepOnline costs $30 per month or $300 per year, adding cloud backup, shared data across devices, sales uploads, recipes, variance reports, and liquor order generation. BarkeepPro costs $50 per month and adds multi-venue management, staff access controls, and data-change audit history. There is no free plan, so operators choose between a one-time mobile purchase and recurring cloud capabilities.
Operationally, Barkeep covers inventory counts, supplier and par-level management, recipe costing, expected-versus-actual usage comparisons, and pour-cost reporting. Its deployment combines mobile and cloud access, with email, phone, and documentation support; support is not offered 24/7. SmartTab and Fintech are the listed integrations, so teams should check ecosystem fit before committing. Barkeep suits budget-conscious single venues that want a one-time app, as well as groups needing cloud sync or Pro’s controls. Operators requiring documented pour tracking or a broader integration set should evaluate alternatives.
