Auto Power-on & Shut-down is a Windows desktop utility for scheduling computer power states and routine desktop actions. It suits people managing a PC that must wake, shut down, restart, log off, lock, enter standby or hibernation, or turn off its monitor at specific times. It can also launch programs, open files or URLs, display messages, and play back recorded keyboard and mouse macros. Lifsoft’s current homepage identifies the product as PC AutoTimer, renamed from Auto Power-on & Shut-down.
The published plans show a paid licensing model. Single License costs $24.99 per device and covers one PC with free upgrades. Family License costs $49.99 per device and provides a license for 5 PCs, while Site License costs $199.99 per device and covers 25 PCs at one location, also with free upgrades. Scheduling supports daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and one-time runs, giving the product useful coverage for recurring maintenance routines and timed power management. Automatic Windows logon on supported versions and PC clock synchronization with an atomic clock server add operational detail beyond basic shutdown timers.
Its strongest fit is device-level scheduling rather than broad workflow automation. The feature set covers power actions, process execution, files, URLs, reminders, monitor control, and basic macro playback, but the published category specifications show no app triggers or browser automation. It is also limited to Windows. Choose it when scheduled PC control and desktop actions are the primary need, especially across one or several PCs. Choose another task automation product when workflows must respond to application events, automate browsers, or connect actions across a broader software ecosystem.
