Our verdict on AttorneyOS

AttorneyOS is cloud-based legal practice management software for South African law firms. It brings clients and matters, court diaries, deadline calculations, intake forms, document templates, portals, payments, time tracking, billing, trust accounting and general accounting into one web workspace. The product is aimed at sole practitioners, conveyancers, litigation teams and growing firms, with firm-wide pricing rather than per-seat billing. Its South African focus also includes VAT-aware billing, Legal Practice Act trust records, court-day calculations and POPIA-conscious recordkeeping.

Pricing is structured across Solo Attorney, Practice, Professional and Firm / Enterprise tiers. The published monthly prices are 999 ZAR, 3,499 ZAR, 6,999 ZAR and 11,999 ZAR respectively, excluding VAT. Solo Attorney includes 100 AI Actions per month; Practice includes 500; Professional includes 1,500; and Firm / Enterprise has no monthly AI Actions cap. Professional adds workflow automations, while Firm / Enterprise adds unlimited users, migration support and custom limits. A seven-day free trial is available, but there is no free plan. Annual pricing is discounted and billed annually.

The strongest case for AttorneyOS is its accounting depth: firms can manage trust ledgers, reconciliations, audit packs, general ledgers, VAT201 and bank reconciliation alongside legal workflows. Client portals support online payments, while calendar integrations cover Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar and Apple Calendar; Paystack and Investec are also listed. The REST API and signed webhooks support broader system connections. Firms that need South African accounting workflows and court-focused tools should shortlist it. Firms requiring mobile apps, or those that do not need its accounting and compliance-oriented scope, should consider a more mobile-focused or narrower alternative.
