Arkiv is open-source backup software for system administrators and organizations managing server data. It covers full and differential backups of files and directories, plus MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB databases. Backups can be scheduled through reusable savepacks and storage targets, with a centralized graphical web interface available alongside a standalone agent and self-hosted Community Edition. Linux, macOS, Windows, and self-hosted deployments are supported.

Pricing is structured around a free Community Edition, SaaS Free, SaaS Pro, and SaaS Enterprise. Community Edition is self-hosted and includes unlimited features, archive purging, a graphical interface, and an optional centralized server. SaaS Free provides one server, one user, two savepacks, two storages, daily backups, and one week of log retention at €0 per month. SaaS Pro costs €20 per month and adds up to three servers and users, 10 savepacks and storages, hourly backups, one year of log retention, archive purging, and email support. SaaS Enterprise costs €30 per month and raises capacity to 50 servers, unlimited users, 100 savepacks, and 20 storages, with backups every minute and three years of log retention.

Storage flexibility is a central strength. Arkiv supports SFTP, Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Blob Storage, OpenStack Swift, and WebDAV, while encrypted archives and retention management support controlled storage practices. Portable archives can be restored with standard Unix tools, and the software uses tar, zstd, SHA-512 checksums, and OpenSSL encryption. Choose Arkiv when open-source deployment, database coverage, and varied storage targets matter most. It is less suitable for teams seeking a broadly scoped backup suite beyond files and databases or an immediately available SaaS onboarding path.
