ArcadeDB is an open-source multi-model database for teams that need graph storage alongside document, key/value, full-text, vector, time-series, or geospatial data. It supports SQL, Cypher, Gremlin, GraphQL, MongoDB QL, and Redis commands, making it a fit for applications that need to preserve compatibility across query styles or existing protocols. Deployment options include embedded JVM applications, standalone servers, Docker, Kubernetes, on-premises environments, and cloud environments.

Pricing is split between a free database edition and optional support subscriptions. Community costs $0 forever and includes the full ArcadeDB feature set, Apache 2.0 licensing, public documentation and tutorials, plus community forum and GitHub Issues access. Silver costs $299 per server per month and adds professional production support, email support, backported patches, and a four-hour S1 response during business hours. Gold is $599 per server monthly, with a one-hour S1 response, mission-critical deployment support, extended coverage from 8am to 8pm CET, and 24/7 coverage. Platinum costs $1,499 per server monthly and adds a 30-minute S1 response, 24/7/365 critical coverage, and an annual architecture and performance audit. Studio AI Assistant is separate at $19.99 per license monthly.

Its main strength is breadth without giving up graph-specific capabilities. ACID transactions work across single-node and distributed deployments, while built-in graph algorithms, native vector search with HNSW and Vamana/DiskANN indexes, and Raft-based high-availability clustering cover varied application requirements. PostgreSQL, Neo4j Bolt, MongoDB, Redis, Gremlin, and HTTP/JSON protocols support integration across different application ecosystems. Teams seeking a flexible, self-hosted multi-model engine should consider ArcadeDB, especially when the free edition is sufficient. Teams wanting only a focused graph database or extensive commercial support should weigh the per-server cost of the paid tiers.
