Arc Browser review
A free browser for structured browsing across desktop and mobile.

Arc is a free Chromium-based browser for people who want browsing organized by context rather than a single stream of tabs. Its desktop experience on Windows and macOS uses Spaces, Profiles, pinned tabs, folders, and Split View to separate projects, accounts, or activities. Arc Search extends the product to iOS and Android with AI-assisted Browse for Me, translation, automatic archiving of inactive mobile tabs, and built-in blocking of ads, trackers, and cookie banners.
The Free plan includes desktop and mobile browser access, with no paid tier described for the current offering. Arc Sync synchronizes selected spaces, folders, and tabs across supported devices, and sidebar data uses end-to-end encryption. The sync scope is deliberately limited: history, saved passwords, extensions, favorites, and profiles do not synchronize. That makes Arc a fit for users who mainly need their organized browsing spaces and selected tabs available across devices, rather than a complete transfer of every browser setting.
Arc’s main distinction is its workflow. Spaces and Profiles give frequent context-switchers a structured alternative to traditional bookmarks, while Split View keeps related pages visible together. Chrome extension compatibility on desktop supports an established extension ecosystem, although desktop extension coverage and maturity are less established. The browser is a strong choice for users who value organized, cross-device browsing and mobile search features. It is less suitable for users who require full browser-data synchronization or want a browser receiving active security patches beyond Chromium updates; Arc’s homepage recommends Dia for that need.
