APS Core HR is a cloud-based HR solution within Automatic Payroll Systems’ unified payroll and HCM platform. It is designed for small, mid-market, and enterprise organizations, with particular relevance for growing businesses and lean HR teams. The platform centralizes employee records and HR data while covering onboarding, benefits administration, compliance tracking, performance reviews, document management, employee self-service, time off, reporting, and workforce planning. It is available through web, iOS, Android, and API access.
APS organizes the product around payroll-led packages rather than a standalone Core HR purchase. The Payroll plan includes payroll tax filings and payments, employee and manager self-service, accrual tracking, direct deposit, and paycards. Payroll + Attendance adds scheduling, time capture options, a time-off manager, and time card approval. Payroll + HR + Attendance adds recruiting and onboarding, document management with e-signature, performance reviews, benefits and COBRA administration, and workforce planning. Organizations should therefore evaluate the package structure against their need for payroll, attendance, and broader HR functionality.
The platform’s ecosystem includes QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Employee Navigator, retirement providers, and timekeeping and attendance systems, alongside a REST API and enterprise integration platform. Dashboards, reports, event alerts, leave calendars, and self-service give employees and managers access to recurring HR workflows. APS Core HR fits organizations that want HR capabilities connected to payroll and attendance in one system. It is less suitable for teams seeking HR software without payroll or a separately purchased Core HR module, or for buyers prioritizing a free plan.
