Our verdict on AntiGuard

AntiGuard is a self-hosted Minecraft anti-cheat plugin distributed as a single JAR for Paper and Purpur servers. It is aimed at small and mid-market teams that want core movement, combat, clicking, fall-damage, and block-breaking checks without adopting a paid service. The open-source plugin runs with Java 17 and stores flags, bans, kicks, and settings in an embedded SQLite database or a LuckPerms-compatible database. Administrative commands and permissions support routine server management.

Its strongest differentiator is the included web dashboard. Administrators can inspect and manage anti-cheat activity through the dashboard, while the REST API exposes flags, bans, kicks, statistics, and configuration. Detection settings can also be changed live without restarting the server, which suits teams that need to adjust enforcement while a server remains online. The integration footprint is focused: LuckPerms is the listed external integration, while the main deployment model remains self-hosted.

AntiGuard covers Fly, Speed, Reach, KillAura, AutoClick, NoSwing, NoFall, and FastBreak detection, with flag, kick, and ban actions. Ban status can be lifted or appealed through the REST API. That scope makes it a practical fit for teams seeking a focused set of core checks and a manageable administration layer. It is less suitable for servers that need broader Minecraft-version coverage, platforms beyond Paper and Purpur, or replay-based investigation. Teams choosing AntiGuard should be comfortable with self-hosted deployment, documented support, and an eight-check detection scope.
