Amazon Photos is a cloud storage service for backing up, organizing, searching, and sharing photos and videos. All Amazon customers receive 5 GB for photos and videos, while Prime members in supported countries receive unlimited full-resolution photo storage plus 5 GB for videos and other files. It suits households already using Amazon services, as well as users who want mobile uploads, desktop backup, searchable libraries, and shared photo spaces across web, Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.

The service covers the main photo-library workflow without narrowing itself to simple file storage. Automatic camera-roll backup is available on iOS and Android, while desktop folder backup supports Windows and Mac. Search can identify people, places, things, dates, and image-recognition tags, with people grouping and face-based search for browsing larger libraries. Albums, shared groups, Family Vault for up to six members, and built-in crop, adjustment, and filter tools add practical organization and editing options. Prime members should find the included full-resolution photo storage particularly relevant; other Amazon customers can choose 50 GB, 100 GB, 1 TB, or 2 TB plans for additional storage for videos and other files.

Amazon Photos also fits naturally with Amazon hardware and household sharing. Photos can be displayed on Echo Show, Echo Spot, and Fire TV, and Family Vault connects with Amazon Family. That ecosystem focus is useful for Amazon households, but less compelling for people seeking a service centered on broader non-Amazon integrations. Features and Prime benefits vary by country, so the strongest value applies to eligible Prime members in supported markets. Choose Amazon Photos for full-resolution photo backup, face-based search, family sharing, and Amazon device display; consider an alternative if country-specific availability or Amazon ecosystem ties do not fit your needs.
