Airtel Money is Airtel Africa’s mobile-money platform for customers who need everyday transactions through a mobile wallet. It supports sending and receiving money, paying utility and other bills, paying merchants, depositing funds, withdrawing cash through agents and reviewing transaction history. The service is offered through the Airtel Money or My Airtel app and USSD channels, making it relevant to mobile-money users who want app-based and USSD access. The apps are available on iOS and Android.
Its feature set spans person-to-person transfers, bill payments and in-store purchases, with QR-code payments also supported. Customers can fund a wallet using credit or debit cards, transfer money between a bank and wallet, and withdraw through agents.
