Aerospike Database is a distributed NoSQL database for enterprises building real-time applications with demanding latency, throughput, and scale requirements. It supports key-value, document, and graph data models through a common database engine. Deployment options include self-managed software in private cloud, public cloud, or on-premises environments, as well as Aerospike Cloud. Its fit is strongest for teams that need high-scale data infrastructure with strong consistency, clustering, and multiple persistence choices.

The published plans show a useful freemium structure. Community Edition is free and includes community support, clusters of up to 8 nodes, and up to 2.5 TB of data. Enterprise Edition adds clusters of up to 256 nodes, unlimited data, and both enterprise and community support, while pricing requires contacting Aerospike. This makes the free edition suitable for smaller deployments and evaluation, while larger production environments are directed toward the paid tier. The product supports record-level time-to-live policies, secondary-index and range queries, user-defined functions, and aggregation.

Aerospike’s main technical strength is the combination of consistency, replication, and storage flexibility. Strong consistency and distributed transactions work alongside automatic failover, cluster reformation, synchronous intracluster replication, and asynchronous cross-datacenter replication through XDR. Storage can be configured for in-memory, hybrid memory/flash, all-flash, or network block storage, with both persistence modes supported. Choose Aerospike when these controls and scale characteristics matter across hybrid deployments. It is a less direct fit for teams seeking a fully managed experience without self-managed deployment responsibilities or a simple key-value service with minimal operational scope.
