ActiveWords turns typed trigger words into text or actions on Windows 10 and 11. It is aimed at individual professionals and organizations that want to reduce repetitive typing while automating common Windows tasks. Alongside plain-text snippets, it can insert formatted text, HTML, RTF, and images, correct spelling, launch programs or URLs, and run scripted sequences with text input variables. ActionPad adds searches across apps and files, calculations, and actions on selected text, making the product broader than a basic snippet tool.
Its strongest fit is for users who want text expansion tied to desktop workflows. Words and actions can sync across PCs; teams can share read-only words and actions. Imports for CSV and Microsoft Office AutoCorrect entries may help bring existing substitutions into the software. These capabilities suit Windows-centered work, but the product does not support other platforms, and its category specifications do not include app targeting. Choose it when trigger words should launch files or applications, run sequences, or insert varied content; look elsewhere if cross-platform support is essential.
ActiveWords is paid software with a 60-day trial and no card requirement.
