A feature-rich choice for teams embedding interactive reports across Microsoft-stack applications.

ActiveReports is a developer-focused reporting product line from MESCIUS for building, embedding, viewing, exporting, and printing reports in .NET and JavaScript applications. It suits teams that need interactive reporting inside web or desktop products, particularly Microsoft-stack developers working with Visual Studio, ASP.NET, WinForms, WPF, Blazor, or related frameworks. ActiveReportsJS extends the fit to browser applications built with React, Angular, Vue, Svelte, Vite, Next.js, and Nuxt.js.
Pricing is annual for the main developer plans. ActiveReports.NET Standard costs $899 per developer per year and includes WYSIWYG reporting, a Visual Studio-integrated designer, viewers for WinForms, WPF, and ASP.NET WebForms, three report types, and more than a dozen export formats. ActiveReports.NET Professional costs $1,399 per developer per year and adds end-user and standalone desktop designers, advanced data visualization, a JS-based web viewer, and advanced PDF exports. ActiveReportsJS Single Deployment costs $1,249 per deployment per year, while the Single Domain License costs $3,999 per deployment per year. The JS plans include product and designer keys, deployment or domain coverage, releases, and, for annual licenses, phone and screensharing support.
The product’s breadth is its main advantage: reports can use SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, JSON, XML, CSV, Excel, APIs, ODBC, and OLE DB, with charts, maps, barcodes, sparklines, parameters, sorting, drill-through links, bookmarks, and multiple export formats. ActiveReports Server adds scheduled report distribution and multi-channel delivery. That separation matters for buyers seeking scheduling, because the base reporting components primarily cover embedded viewing, export, and printing. Choose ActiveReports when deep report authoring and Microsoft-stack integration justify a paid developer license; consider an alternative if free access, simpler pricing, or built-in scheduling in the core component is the priority.
ActiveReports pros and cons

- Integrations across .NET, Visual Studio, and modern JavaScript frameworks
- Where it doesn't
- No free plan, with annual pricing starting at $899 per developer
- Scheduling requires ActiveReports Server rather than the base components
- JavaScript licensing can become costly for domain-based deployments
