ActiveDock is a macOS application launcher and Dock replacement for individual Mac users who want structured access to applications, documents, files, and folders. It can replace or complement Apple’s Dock and Launchpad, while adding groups, folder views, custom application icons, themes, application hiding, and multiple-monitor support. File search is also included in its category specifications, making the product broader than a simple shortcut bar.

The published plans show two perpetual-license options. ActiveDock 2 Single License covers one Mac and includes one year of maintenance and free updates. ActiveDock 2 Pro Lifetime covers three Macs and includes lifetime updates and maintenance. Both plans are paid, so ActiveDock is aimed at buyers who prefer a perpetual license rather than a free launcher. The Pro Lifetime plan is the more suitable fit for people managing several Macs or seeking ongoing maintenance and updates under one license.

Its standout strength is the combination of organization and window control: users can arrange applications and documents into groups, browse files and folders through folder views, and use window previews for switching and positioning. Themes and custom icons provide additional control over the Dock’s appearance, while hiding and exclusion settings help keep the launcher focused. The trade-off is a narrow platform fit: ActiveDock requires macOS 14.6 or later and does not serve Windows or other operating systems. Choose it if you want a highly configurable Mac Dock replacement with multi-monitor support; choose an alternative if you need cross-platform availability or a free plan.
