Our verdict on 5pm
5pm is a cloud project-management and team-collaboration application for organizations coordinating projects, tasks, files, discussions, deadlines, and time. It fits small teams that need structured, time-based planning without separating project management from time tracking. Its toolkit includes project and task management, an interactive Gantt-style timeline with dependencies, configurable reports, workflow automation, file and notes sharing, and a desktop time-tracker widget. Mobile apps are available for iPhone and Android, alongside web, Windows, macOS, Linux, and API access.
Pricing is organized by user capacity rather than by feature tiers. The 5 Users plan costs $28 per month and includes unlimited clients; 10 Users costs $44 per month, 20 Users costs $80 per month, 40 Users costs $120 per month, and Unlimited Users costs $250 per month. All listed prices are monthly. A 14-day trial provides an evaluation period, while trial storage is limited to 50 MB. This structure is straightforward for small teams, but the cost rises as more users are added, and there is no ongoing free plan.
5pm’s ecosystem supports two-way email integration, Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Gmail, Slack, Zapier, and storage services including Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and Box. Its open API and integrations such as Alexa, 8am, Firefly, and SpiderScribe extend its connection options. Teams should choose 5pm when dependencies, time reporting, automation, and client collaboration belong in one workspace. Organizations seeking a continuing free option should look elsewhere.
