To beat the October 2026 Portal Challenge in Clash of Clans, keep the main force together for the opening push, use the Minion Prince’s Portal Pendant to create a second attack angle, and save some Totem Spells for the closing defenses. The detailed placements below come from a third-party walkthrough, not official instructions, so adapt them to what happens in your battle.
Check that the challenge is still available
Supercell’s October 1, 2026 season announcement schedules the Portal Challenge for October 6–13, 2026, and says it is open to every Town Hall. To confirm its current status and remaining time, open the in-game Event Hub; Supercell Support says the hub lists active and upcoming events.

Understand what the Totem Throwers do
Supercell describes Totem Throwers as ground-targeting ranged troops. Their first attack, and every fourth attack after it, throws a totem instead of a rock; the totem stuns nearby defenses and summons a Tiny Totem decoy where it lands. That makes a concentrated group useful in the walkthrough’s opening push: their attacks can disrupt defenses while the force advances.

The following placements summarize a third-party guide published October 6, 2026. They are a suggested approach rather than an official Supercell strategy or a guarantee of a three-star result; respond to the actual troop movement and defenses in your attempt.

- Build a concentrated push from the top. The guide deploys all 10 Totem Throwers together at the top, with two Healers, the Ruin Witch, Log Launcher, and Grand Warden behind them. It also groups the Clan Castle troops and Wall Breaker with this force.
- Support the opening group. Cast the Angry Spell over the main push. The guide’s aim is to help the force move through the first compartment while Totem Thrower attacks stun defenses and create decoys.
- Open two flank paths. Send the Archer Queen down the left side and the Minion Prince down the right. The guide uses the Queen’s ability early.
- Use the Prince’s recall for a second angle. Let the Portal Pendant return the Minion Prince to the deployment bar, then redeploy him near the bottom of the base by the Eagle Artillery. The guide warns that a nearby King may be recalled as well, so hold the King until after the Prince has moved.
- Manage defending troops and late defenses. The guide recommends casting Poison when defending Archers reach the main group, using Invisibility as the main force crosses the core, and keeping two or three Totem Spells for the final defenses.
What the walkthrough does—and does not—establish
The official season announcement confirms the event window, all-Town-Hall eligibility, and the Totem Thrower’s attack behavior. It does not confirm the walkthrough’s exact army configuration, troop levels, rewards, or deployment sequence. Treat those details as the third-party guide’s recommendations, and check the live challenge for the composition and rewards shown in your game.
