Rinnai rates it at 2.56 kW and gives a 9–20 m² minimum application-area range, but those figures are manufacturer guidance, not a promise of performance in every room. Rinnai lists sleep mode, timer, adjustable temperature control, a washable filter, water alarm, Wi-Fi and remote control, and a ventilation kit. Its product information describes the unit as not requiring routine water emptying, but notes that humid conditions can still make drainage necessary. How well does it cool, and what room size suits it?
Rinnai specifies a 2.56 kW cooling capacity and gives an ideal application area of 9–20 m² minimum. Use that range as a starting point rather than a guaranteed maximum: room insulation, sun exposure, ceiling height, outdoor temperature, and air leaks all affect how much cooling a portable unit can deliver.

The manufacturer’s brochure emphasizes that the room must be sealed and well insulated for best performance, and advises considering the conditions of the individual room. It does not provide an independent test result that establishes how quickly this model cools a particular space.
Installation: the exhaust hose is essential
The PH26CWF cools air and releases it at the front while carrying hot air out through an exhaust hose and supplied window kit. The brochure states: “Hot air must be exhausted outside the room being cooled, or the room will not cool.” Routing the hose into the same room defeats the setup; make sure the window opening is sealed around the kit as far as its design allows.

Rinnai’s brochure recommends a well-insulated, sealed ground-floor room for best performance. Follow the model’s operation and installation manual and applicable Australian requirements; the brochure is not a substitute for installation and safety instructions.
Is the Polo PH26CWF any good?
The published specifications make it possible to judge whether the PH26CWF fits a small-room cooling need, and its listed controls and washable filter cover common convenience features. The evidence available publicly does not support a firm verdict on real-world cooling, noise, or value against competing models.

Availability, warranty and what to verify before buying
Rinnai Australia still presents product details and a stockist locator, and says products are sold through third-party stockists and installers rather than directly to the public. That does not confirm new-unit inventory. Check with a seller whether a unit is available, whether it is old stock, and whether the quoted price and warranty apply to that specific purchase. Rinnai lists a three-year warranty subject to conditions; consult the region-specific warranty booklet for the actual coverage.
