Polk soundbars do not all use the same firmware-update procedure. Identify your exact model first, then follow its instructions: the Command Bar can check for an over-the-air update after a short power cycle, while the Signa S3 updates automatically over Wi-Fi through Google Home. Polk’s React manual does not document an update procedure, so do not apply another model’s steps to it.
Identify your Polk soundbar model first
Check the model name on the soundbar’s label, packaging, or product registration. Then open Polk Product Support and search for that exact model. Review its current FAQ and manual before trying a button combination or restart sequence; instructions for one model may not apply to another.
Polk’s support site also provides product archives, authorized service-center information, warranty details, and contact options. Check the live page for current ways to reach support.
Update steps by model

Polk Command Bar
Polk says Command Bar firmware is periodically delivered over the air by Amazon. To prompt a check, unplug the power cord, wait 10 seconds, reconnect it, and make sure the soundbar is online. Polk Signa S3
The Signa S3 quick-start guide describes automatic software updates after Wi-Fi is configured using Google Home on an iOS or Android device. Updates take place when the unit is in standby at night. The guide states that automatic updating is disabled in deep standby, so leave the soundbar in normal standby if you expect it to update automatically. Polk Signa S3 quick-start guide
Polk React
The React owner’s manual covers setup, troubleshooting, and a factory reset, but does not provide firmware-update steps. A factory reset restores factory settings; it is not an update. Check the React product page or contact Polk for model-specific advice rather than trying the Command Bar power-cycle procedure or an undocumented button sequence. If an update does not happen
- Confirm the exact model and make sure you are following its instructions, not another Polk soundbar’s procedure.
- For a Command Bar, check that it is online and follow the 10-second unplug-and-reconnect step.
- For a Signa S3, confirm Wi-Fi setup through Google Home and use normal standby rather than deep standby.
- For React or any model without a documented update method, search Polk’s product support materials or contact Polk before attempting a forced update or reset.
For other React problems, its manual recommends checking connections and operation against the manual, and verifying that connected devices work correctly. If the problem is not covered, contact the dealer; disconnect power immediately if you suspect a fault. These are troubleshooting steps, not firmware-update instructions.
