The POCO X8 Pro and vivo S2 5G sit near the same price in India’s available listings, but they prioritize different things. POCO lists a faster-tier chipset, a 120Hz display and up to 100W charging; vivo lists a larger, higher-resolution screen, a higher-capacity battery and a 32MP selfie camera. The listed specs do not establish which phone is faster in real use, lasts longer or takes better photos.

Which phone has the better performance?
On paper, POCO has the higher-tier-sounding chip specification: Dimensity 8500-Ultra, compared with vivo’s Dimensity 7360-Turbo. That is a difference between the chips named by the manufacturers, not a measured performance result. The cited specifications do not provide comparable benchmark scores or real-world tests, so they cannot establish a precise speed advantage for gaming, multitasking or everyday use.

If performance is your deciding factor, look for independent tests of the exact India-market models and software versions you plan to buy. The chip names alone are not enough to predict sustained gaming performance, heat or battery impact.
How do the displays differ?
The vivo S2 5G has the larger listed panel at 6.83 inches and a stated resolution of 2800 × 1260. POCO lists a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with a refresh rate up to 120Hz. The vivo screen may appeal if you prefer a larger viewing area; POCO explicitly states its higher refresh-rate ceiling. The available specifications do not establish a direct brightness or overall display-quality winner.

Which phone has the better cameras?
POCO specifies a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. vivo lists a 50MP main camera and a 2MP secondary rear camera. For selfies, vivo lists 32MP while POCO lists 20MP. These resolution and hardware details do not show which phone takes better photos: sensor processing, lens performance and software also matter, and no comparative photo test is established by the cited specifications.
Battery capacity, charging speed and what the figures mean
vivo lists a 7050mAh typical battery, compared with POCO’s 6500mAh typical capacity. POCO lists charging up to 100W HyperCharge; vivo lists 44W charging. Those figures describe capacity and rated charging support, not independently measured screen-on time or a guaranteed time to full charge. Actual results can vary with use, temperature, charger and other conditions.

Check the package before ordering. POCO says adapter inclusion depends on the local seller. vivo’s cited India-store listing includes a charger, case and applied protective film; this describes that listing’s package, not necessarily every seller’s offer.

The comparison result displayed approximately ₹42,990 for POCO X8 Pro and ₹41,999 for vivo S2 5G, a difference of about ₹991 in vivo’s favor in that snapshot. However, the result does not establish that the two prices are for equivalent RAM and storage configurations or represent verified live offers.

Separately, vivo’s India E-Store displayed ₹42,999 for its selected Sapphire Blue 8GB+128GB S2 variant and also listed an 8GB+256GB option. Treat these as listing-specific snapshots, not a stable market price. Before buying, compare the same memory and storage tier, seller, included accessories and current checkout price.
Water-resistance ratings: read the conditions
POCO states an IP68 rating and specifies controlled conditions of up to 1.5m depth for 30 minutes. vivo lists IP68/IP69 testing, while warning that resistance can diminish with use and that liquid damage is not covered by warranty. These ratings and test conditions are not a promise that either phone is safe for routine immersion, seawater, soapy water or accidental liquid exposure. Follow each manufacturer’s care and warranty terms.
Which one should you choose?
- Consider POCO X8 Pro if its stated 120Hz refresh rate, up to 100W charging, OIS-equipped main camera or Dimensity 8500-Ultra specification better fits your priorities. Check whether the seller includes a compatible power adapter.
- Consider vivo S2 5G if you prefer the larger listed display, higher typical battery capacity, 32MP front camera or the included accessories on vivo’s cited India-store package.
- For either phone, compare current prices for the same RAM and storage configuration and check independent performance or camera tests if those results matter more than specifications.
Availability and network note
The price and store details here use India-market pages, and the specifications may differ by market. vivo lists 5G dual-SIM dual-standby support and India network bands; confirm that the bands match your carrier before buying. POCO announced a global online launch event for the X8 Pro Series on March 17, 2026, but that does not confirm local availability or pricing in every market. See POCO’s launch page and vivo’s India specifications.
