The POCO M8 5G is the better fit if you want an AMOLED display and a thinner, lighter phone; the vivo T5x 5G stands out for its larger stated battery and higher advertised water- and dust-resistance ratings. The official vivo India store listed the 8GB+256GB T5x at ₹34,999 when checked on October 7, 2026. The official POCO specifications page is global and does not establish a current Indian price, so a reliable price difference cannot be stated without checking equivalent variants at current Indian retailers.

Which phone has the better display?
POCO has the clearer advantage on the listed display specifications: its 6.77-inch panel is Flow AMOLED and supports refresh rates up to 120Hz. vivo lists a similarly sized 6.76-inch LCD with a 2,344 × 1,080 resolution, but the retrieved official listing does not state its refresh rate. If screen technology and a specified high refresh rate are priorities, the POCO is the more straightforward choice.

The resolution figures are close, but panel type and refresh rate are distinct from resolution. They do not by themselves establish brightness, color accuracy, outdoor readability, or how smooth every app will feel.
Do the chipset names establish a performance winner?
No. POCO lists the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, while vivo lists the Dimensity 7400-Turbo. Those names identify the processors, but the available evidence does not include a controlled head-to-head test of these exact phones. Do not treat the chipset names alone as proof that one phone is faster in games, multitasking, or everyday use.
Which has the larger battery, and which charges faster?
vivo lists a 7,200mAh battery, compared with POCO’s 5,520mAh typical capacity. POCO lists 45W charging and vivo 44W. These are manufacturer specifications; battery capacity alone cannot predict how long a phone lasts in your usage, and the one-watt difference does not establish a meaningful real-world charging advantage. Screen use, network conditions, software, and other factors affect endurance.

Megapixel counts and component names do not establish which phone takes better photos or video. The available specifications do not provide an independent comparison of image quality, low-light performance, stabilization, or camera processing.
What do the water-resistance ratings mean?
POCO specifies IP66 and cautions that resistance can deteriorate over time; it says not to immerse the phone. vivo advertises IP68 and IP69+. These ratings indicate different tested forms of ingress protection, but they are not a promise that a device is damage-proof in every situation. Avoid deliberate exposure to water, and check each manufacturer’s full terms and exclusions before relying on the rating.

What about software and updates?
POCO’s global specifications list HyperOS 2. vivo’s India product page describes OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. The retrieved official information does not establish comparable update commitments for these exact India models, so a specific promise about how many Android-version upgrades or years of security updates either will receive cannot be confirmed here.
What is the price difference in India?
The vivo India store listed the T5x in an 8GB+256GB configuration for ₹34,999 when accessed on October 7, 2026. That is a dated listing, not a guarantee of today’s checkout price. The official POCO specifications page retrieved for this comparison is global and does not establish a current India price for the M8. As a result, there is no substantiated price gap to calculate from these figures.
Before comparing offers, check that both listings are for the same RAM and storage capacity, confirm the seller and availability, and compare the final price at checkout. 91mobiles’ comparison page may provide secondary pricing context, but those offers are volatile and should be rechecked rather than treated as authoritative current prices.

Which should you choose?
- Choose the POCO M8 5G if you prioritize an AMOLED screen with a stated refresh rate up to 120Hz, or a thinner and lighter design based on the published dimensions.
- Choose the vivo T5x 5G if you prioritize the larger stated battery capacity or the higher advertised IP68/IP69+ ratings.
- Compare current prices before buying if value is decisive: the confirmed vivo listing is for 8GB+256GB, while a current official India POCO price was not established here.
