On paper, the POCO M8 5G and the Ai+ Nova 2 Ultra 5G are close, and the cheaper option depends on the seller and the variant you find. On a comparison listing reported on 7 October 2026, the Ai+ Nova 2 Ultra 5G is priced at ₹20,999 and the POCO M8 5G at ₹22,820, a gap of ₹1,821 in the Ai+’s favour. The Ai+ also has the larger listed battery and the higher listed display resolution. The POCO has faster listed charging, and it is the only one of the two whose core specifications are confirmed on an official manufacturer page. Treat the prices as a snapshot and check the live listing before you buy.
Price difference in India
The table below shows the two prices as reported on the comparison result, with the availability notes that came with them. These are retail references from a single search-time view, not a guaranteed checkout price.
| Model | Reported India price | Price source | Availability note |
|---|---|---|---|
| POCO M8 5G | ₹22,820 | Amazon India reference on the comparison result | Not flagged as out of stock in the listing reviewed |
| Ai+ Nova 2 Ultra 5G | ₹20,999 | Comparison result; a Flipkart price appears in one view | Shown as out of stock in one view and as available in another |
The gap is ₹1,821, or roughly 8.7% of the Ai+ price. The listing does not state which RAM and storage configuration each price refers to. If the two models are sold in more than one memory variant, the gap may not be like-for-like, so compare the same configuration on each seller’s page.

Display: more pixels on the Ai+, a confirmed panel on the POCO
Both phones are listed at a 120 Hz refresh rate, and the screen sizes differ by only 0.01 inch. The main difference is resolution. The Ai+ figure of 1272 × 2772 contains roughly 36% more pixels than the POCO’s 2392 × 1080, so on paper it should show finer detail. That only matters if you can see the difference at normal viewing distance on a 6.7-inch-class screen, and pixel count alone says nothing about brightness, colour accuracy or outdoor visibility. The POCO’s panel description is confirmed by the manufacturer. The Ai+ panel description is not, so treat it as a listed claim until an official source confirms it.
Battery and charging: a bigger tank against a faster fill
The Ai+ has the larger listed battery at 6000 mAh against 5520 mAh, and the POCO has the faster listed charger at 45 W against 33 W. Those two numbers pull in opposite directions. A larger battery does not guarantee longer real-world use, because screen settings, network conditions and software tuning all affect endurance. A higher wattage does not guarantee a specific charge time either, since the figure describes the charger’s maximum rate, not how long a full charge takes. Neither listing provides tested endurance or charge-time results, so judge these numbers as the starting point for your own testing or for independent reviews of the exact variant.

Cameras: the secondary-listing picture
Both phones are listed with a 50 MP main rear camera, so the sensor counts look similar. The differences lie in the secondary lenses. The Ai+ is listed with an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, which gives a wider field of view for landscapes and group shots. The POCO is listed with a 2 MP depth sensor, which is used mainly for portrait background blur and does not take general-purpose photos. The POCO’s front camera is listed at 20 MP against 13 MP for the Ai+, so the POCO has the higher selfie resolution on paper. Megapixel counts do not establish image quality, which depends on the sensor, lens, processing and software. Compare sample photos taken in similar lighting before deciding.

Chipset and performance: why clock speed is not a verdict
The POCO uses the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and the Ai+ uses the Dimensity 7400. The listings give a higher peak CPU clock for the Dimensity (2.6 GHz against 2.4 GHz), but peak clock speed does not measure sustained performance. Gaming, multitasking and heat behaviour depend on the whole chip design, memory and the phone’s thermal management. We did not find comparable independent benchmark results for these two exact models, so no performance winner can be declared from the specifications.

Software and updates
The listings give POCO Android 15 with HyperOS and the Ai+ Android 16 at release. The version a phone ships with does not show how long it will receive updates. Update promises vary by region and seller, and neither source states an update policy. Check the manufacturer’s current update commitment for the Indian model before you buy, especially if you plan to keep the phone for several years.

Which one to choose
- Choose the Ai+ Nova 2 Ultra 5G if the lower listed price matters most, you want the larger listed battery, or you value the wider ultra-wide camera, and you can confirm that the seller has stock.
- Choose the POCO M8 5G if you want the faster listed charging, the higher selfie resolution, or a display and product description confirmed by the manufacturer, and the price gap does not change your decision.
- Do not decide on the chipset alone. Unless you need a specific performance result, wait for tested comparisons of the exact variant you plan to buy.
Checks before you buy
- Open each seller’s product page and select the RAM and storage option you want, so both prices refer to the same configuration.
- Compare the final payable price, including any bank or coupon offers shown at checkout, not just the headline price.
- Confirm the item is in stock and sold by a seller you trust, since one comparison view showed the Ai+ as out of stock.
- Check the official POCO page and the Ai+ brand’s own channels for the current India specifications and update policy.
- Look for independent reviews of the exact variant covering battery life, heat and camera samples before you commit.
