What is the price difference in India?

The price difference is not a fixed amount. The available snapshots were taken on different dates and show different sellers and configurations, so subtracting one figure from another would not produce a reliable current comparison.

Which phone has the better display and performance?

Display

POCO lists a 120Hz refresh rate, compared with the Galaxy M17’s 90Hz. That gives POCO the higher listed refresh rate, which can make supported motion appear smoother. Samsung specifies a Super AMOLED panel. These specifications do not establish which screen looks better overall; brightness, calibration and viewing conditions also matter, and no comparative test is established here.

Processor

The POCO uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 7025 Ultra, while Samsung specifies an Exynos 1330 manufactured on a 5nm process. The chipset names alone do not prove which phone feels faster in everyday use or performs better in games. Choose based on your actual app needs rather than treating the processor labels as a benchmark result.

Which phone is better for photos?

Galaxy M17: OIS and an ultrawide camera

Samsung lists optical image stabilization (OIS) on the M17’s 50MP main camera, as well as a separate 5MP ultrawide and 2MP macro camera. OIS is intended to compensate for hand movement; Samsung notes that results vary with conditions. The additional ultrawide gives you a dedicated way to frame wider scenes.

POCO M7 Pro: higher front-camera resolution

POCO lists a 50MP + 2MP rear-camera setup and a 20MP front camera. The cited POCO specification listing does not document OIS. Its front camera has more stated megapixels than Samsung’s 13MP selfie camera, but megapixel counts alone do not establish sharper or better-looking photos. Choose the M17 for its documented OIS and ultrawide option, or consider POCO if the listed selfie-camera resolution is more relevant to you.

Battery, charging and durability

POCO lists a 5,110mAh battery and 45W charging; Samsung lists 5,000mAh and 25W. Those figures favor POCO for stated capacity and charging wattage, but they do not establish real-world battery runtime or how long a full charge takes.

The listed ingress ratings are IP64 for POCO and IP54 for Samsung. These ratings describe protection against dust and water ingress under specified test conditions; neither makes a phone waterproof or indestructible. Samsung also lists Gorilla Glass Victus, but that does not mean the phone cannot be scratched or damaged.

Software updates: Galaxy M17’s clearest long-term advantage

The POCO listing identifies Android 14 with HyperOS. Samsung says the Galaxy M17 launched with Android 15 and One UI 7, and states a plan for six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. Samsung qualifies this as information about its current plans, not a commitment or obligation; timing and content may change. See the Samsung product page for the qualification.

Which should you buy?

  • Choose POCO M7 Pro 5G if a higher listed refresh rate, 45W charging and slightly larger stated battery capacity matter most—and its live price makes it the better deal in the configuration you want.
  • Choose Samsung Galaxy M17 5G if you want documented OIS on the main camera, a dedicated ultrawide, Gorilla Glass Victus or Samsung’s stated longer software-support plan.

Before buying, compare the same storage tier where possible. The M17’s listed configurations include 4/128GB, 6/128GB and 8/128GB; the cited POCO price listing covers 6/128GB and 8/256GB. A cheaper price for less RAM or storage is not a like-for-like saving. Check the seller’s live checkout total, not just an old launch price or comparison-page snapshot.
