Pluto TV’s free live channels are available through Google TV’s Live tab in the United States. Google announced the integration in December 2021; its current U.S. help page still lists Pluto TV as a live-channel provider. The six-month Peacock Premium promotion announced alongside the integration was explicitly limited-time, and the announcement does not show that it is still available.
What Google announced in 2021
On December 6, 2021, Google said Pluto TV’s free live programming was being added to the Google TV Live tab for U.S. viewers, with the rollout expected over the following weeks. The announcement also said that, for a limited time, people activating a new Google TV or other Android TV OS device in the United States could get six months of Peacock Premium at no extra cost. Google’s announcement described that as a promotion, not a permanent device benefit.
Google attributed a 2021 finding that 67% of TV streamers were concerned about how much they would pay for streaming in the future to its own research. The announcement did not provide the study or methodology, so the figure should be understood as Google’s dated claim—not a current industry measure. Google’s 2021 post

Is the Peacock Premium offer still available?
The 2021 announcement does not establish that the six-month offer remains available today. Because Google called it limited-time and no current eligibility terms are confirmed here, do not assume that activating a new Google TV device now includes Peacock Premium. Check the offer terms shown by Google or the device seller at the time of activation before relying on it.

How to watch Pluto TV channels on Google TV today
Google’s current U.S. help page says live channels from supported apps, including Pluto TV, can be watched at no charge from the Live tab or Google TV Freeplay. The page is the appropriate place to check current availability and instructions for your device: Google TV Help: Watch live TV on Google TV.
The original 2021 integration was reported with a requirement to install the Pluto TV app; a contemporaneous article later corrected its initial claim on that point. For present-day setup, follow Google’s current instructions rather than relying on that historical account. Chrome Unboxed’s article and correction

Which other free channels are in Google TV’s Live tab?
Google said in April 2023 that Tubi, Plex, and Haystack News were joining Pluto TV in the Live tab. At that time, Google reported more than 800 channels. That total is a dated figure from 2023, not a current channel count; Google’s support page is the better reference for the lineup available now. Google’s April 2023 announcement
Do you need a new streaming device?
If you already have supported Google TV hardware, you do not need to buy another device solely to use its Live tab. If you do not, check your television or streaming device’s compatibility and Google’s current help instructions before buying hardware. The 2021 Peacock promotion is not a sound reason to purchase a device unless a current offer is independently confirmed.
