पहले यह तय करें कि कटाव screenshot की सीमा के कारण है या पेज के CSS layout के कारण। fullPage: true पूरे scrollable document को कैप्चर करता है, लेकिन वह overflow से छिपे dropdown को नहीं खोलता। यदि menu panel के किनारे पर कट रहा है, तो उसके ancestors की clipping, positioning और stacking जाँचें।
पहचानें कि dropdown क्यों कट रहा है
एक ही लक्षण के पीछे अलग समस्याएँ हो सकती हैं। पहले menu को सामान्य तरीके से खोलें और फिर देखें कि उसका बॉक्स कहाँ है तथा कौन-सा किनारा उसे काट रहा है।
- दस्तावेज़ के ऊपर या नीचे का हिस्सा गायब है: संभव है screenshot केवल viewport का हो। पूरे scrollable page के लिए
fullPageऔर सटीक क्षेत्र के लिएclipविकल्प देखें। - Menu card या panel की सीमा पर सपाट कटता है: menu और उसके ancestors के computed
overflow,overflow-x,overflow-y,height,max-heightऔरcontainमान देखें। - Menu मौजूद है, पर दूसरे element के पीछे है: stacking-context chain जाँचें। केवल menu पर बड़ा
z-indexदेना पर्याप्त नहीं हो सकता। position: fixedके बावजूद menu viewport से जुड़ा नहीं दिखता: ancestors परtransform,filter,containऔरperspectiveजाँचें।- Screenshot में menu अधखुला है: capture से पहले trigger सक्रिय करें और menu की दिखाई देने वाली अवस्था की प्रतीक्षा करें।

fullPage: true(Python मेंfull_page=True) पूरी scrollable page को कैप्चर करता है। - एक element: locator screenshot चुने हुए element को कैप्चर करता है। Scrollable element के screenshot में उसकी वर्तमान scroll स्थिति का content दिखता है; locator screenshot ancestor की CSS clipping को नहीं हटाता।

CSS clipping और positioning ठीक करें
Overflow लगाने वाले ancestor को पहचानें
CSS में overflow: hidden, clip, auto और scroll constrained box की सीमा पर content काट सकते हैं; visible content को box से बाहर दिखने देता है। Menu से ऊपर DOM tree में ancestors की computed styles देखें और उस पहले ancestor की पहचान करें जिसकी सीमा पर कटाव शुरू होता है। MDN overflow संदर्भ में इन मानों का व्यवहार दिया गया है।

फिर layout के इरादे के अनुसार बदलाव करें:
- अगर menu को panel के बाहर निकलना चाहिए, clipping लागू करने वाले ancestor का overflow या height नियम बदलें।
- अगर panel को सीमित और scrollable रहना चाहिए, menu को उसी clipping container में दिखाने की अपेक्षा न रखें; उसे clipping ancestor के बाहर render/portal करें।
- अगर menu का panel के भीतर ही रहना सही व्यवहार है, उसे भीतर scrollable रखें।
overflow: visible को हर ancestor पर अंधाधुंध लगाने से layout और scrolling प्रभावित हो सकते हैं। overflow: hidden content को दृश्य से काटता है, हालांकि programmatic scrolling फिर भी संभव हो सकती है।

Position reference और stacking context जाँचें
Absolute menu की जगह उसके निकटतम उपयुक्त positioned ancestor से तय हो सकती है। Fixed element सामान्यतः viewport के सापेक्ष होता है, लेकिन कुछ ancestor गुण—जैसे transform, filter, contain या perspective—उसके containing block को बदल सकते हैं। MDN containing block मार्गदर्शिका इस संबंध को समझाती है।
इसके बाद stacking-context chain देखें। Nested stacking contexts अलग-अलग layer होते हैं; child का z-index अपने parent context से बाहर नहीं निकलता। इसलिए z-index: 999999 जोड़ना clipping या parent stacking context की समस्या का सार्वभौमिक हल नहीं है। अधिक जानकारी के लिए MDN stacking context देखें।

Overlay या Popover API कब चुनें

- वही viewport और device scale चुनें जो test के उद्देश्य के अनुकूल हो।
- Menu को वास्तविक trigger से user-facing locator के माध्यम से खोलें।
- मनमाना timeout लगाने की जगह menu की visible अवस्था का इंतज़ार या assertion करें।
- Menu का bounding box और viewport आकार देखें। यदि box viewport से बाहर है, placement और viewport-aware positioning जाँचें। यदि box अपेक्षित जगह में है लेकिन pixels दिखाई नहीं देते, overflow और stacking ancestry जाँचें।
- नतीजे के अनुसार viewport, locator या full-page screenshot लें।
