A Canadian-registered Gulfstream G100 air ambulance operated by Latitude Air Ambulance lost contact after departing Bermuda for Boston, and the U.S. Coast Guard searched off Nantucket. Six people were believed aboard. The aircraft’s fate, the outcome for those on board and the cause of the reported emergency were not confirmed in reporting available as of October 4, 2026.

What happened to the plane from Bermuda?

The aircraft left Bermuda’s L.F. Wade International Airport overnight for Massachusetts. The Federal Aviation Administration reported that contact was lost early Saturday, October 3, 2026. The Coast Guard deployed air and surface crews to search off Nantucket, according to the Associated Press.

The AP, citing airport operator Skyport, reported that four crew members and two passengers were aboard. Latitude Air Ambulance flight operations director Clarence Togeretz said the flight was carrying out a medical evacuation in Bermuda. The aircraft was a Canadian-registered Gulfstream G100 operated by the company.

Where was the search focused?

Search teams were operating off Nantucket, Massachusetts, using both aircraft and surface resources. The available reports establish the general search area, but do not identify a confirmed location for the missing aircraft.

What is known about the reported emergency?

AP reported, citing air traffic control audio, that the pilot described electrical problems and declared an emergency. Preliminary FlightRadar24 data cited in the report showed the aircraft descending from about 24,000 feet to about 10,000 feet. Those details describe reported communications and preliminary tracking data; they do not establish why contact was lost or what happened afterward.

In the audio, a controller asked, “Roger, you said you’re coming in blind. Is that what you said?” That was a question from the controller, not confirmation that the pilot could not see or that the aircraft’s instruments had failed. No cause had been established in the reporting available at the time.

Who was aboard?

Six people were believed to be aboard: four crew members and two passengers, according to AP’s account of information from Skyport. Canada’s transport minister said four people on the aircraft were Canadian nationals. The reviewed reports did not provide confirmed names.

What have the airline and investigators said?

Togeretz told Sky News that the company became concerned when its crew did not report in on time, while cautioning that this did not mean the worst had happened. His remarks expressed concern and hope; they did not confirm the aircraft’s or occupants’ status.

AP reported that the National Transportation Safety Board was gathering information but had not announced whether it would investigate. The available reporting did not establish the aircraft’s fate or the outcome for the people aboard.
