To screen mirror or cast to a Philips Smart TV, first check the TV’s model and platform: Philips Google TV models covered by Philips’ instructions can receive content from Chromecast-enabled apps or Chrome, while compatible models with Wireless Screencasting use Miracast for screen duplication. These are different methods, and the right one depends on the TV and sending device.
First, choose the method your Philips TV supports
“Casting” can mean sending content from a supported app, or it can mean duplicating the sender’s full display. Philips’ Google TV instructions cover casting from supported apps and Chrome; its Wireless Screencasting instructions cover Miracast screen sharing. Neither path is universal across Philips Smart TVs.
- Philips Google TV: Cast from a current Chromecast-enabled app or Chrome. For the models covered by Philips’ support page, the sender and TV must be on the same Wi-Fi network. Philips’ Google TV casting instructions
- Philips Wireless Screencasting: Use a Miracast-compatible phone or computer with a TV model that offers this feature. Philips says Apple devices do not support Miracast or Philips Wireless Screencasting. Philips’ Wireless Screencasting instructions
Before following either set of steps, check the model list on the relevant Philips support page or consult your TV’s manual. A Philips manual for a particular TV also documents a legacy MHL cable connection, but only for compatible phones and a TV with the specified MHL port.

Cast from an app or Chrome to Philips Google TV
This method sends content from a Chromecast-enabled app or Chrome; it does not guarantee that every phone screen or app can be mirrored. Philips says to use the latest version of the app or Chrome and connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi network.

- Connect the Philips Google TV and your phone, tablet, or computer to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open the content in a current Chromecast-enabled app, or open Chrome on a computer.
- Select the app’s Cast control or Chrome’s Cast option, then choose your TV by its device name.
- When you want to stop, open the Cast control and disconnect.
If the TV does not appear, Philips recommends checking the Wi-Fi network, confirming that the Chromecast built-in system app is present and enabled, installing any available system update, and rebooting the TV. Google TV settings also show the TV’s device name. These directions apply to the models listed on Philips’ support page.
Mirror a device with Philips Wireless Screencasting
Wireless Screencasting uses Miracast to show a compatible sender’s screen on the TV. The exact sender menu varies: the setting may be called “cast screen,” “wireless display,” or Miracast, and some computers expose it through display settings.

- QLED quantum dot technology delivers a wider range of color, contrast, and brightness
- 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution provides sharp, detailed picture quality.
- Roku Smart Picture automatically selects the appropriate picture mode for your content.
- Three HDMI inputs, two USB ports, Wi-Fi, optical audio output, antenna input, and headphone output.
- Works with Siri, Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple AirPlay, and the free Roku mobile app.
- On the TV, open Menu, select Wireless Screencasting, and leave the feature ready to connect.
- On the sending device, open its Miracast or wireless-display setting and start a search for displays.
- Select the Philips TV when it appears and accept any connection prompt shown on the TV or sender.
- To end mirroring, disconnect from the sender’s wireless-display control or turn off Wireless Screencasting on the TV.
Philips lists Windows 8.1 or later, Windows Phone 8.1 or later, Android 4.4 or later, and BlackBerry 10.2.1 or later as supported sender generations on its Wireless Screencasting support page. A compatible Windows PC may still need updated drivers. Apple does not support Miracast or Philips Wireless Screencasting; this does not establish whether a particular Apple device can use a different feature or an external receiver with a particular Philips model.
What to check when mirroring fails
- The TV is missing from a Google Cast list: Verify that both devices use the same Wi-Fi network. Check that Chromecast built-in is present and enabled on the TV, then install available system updates and reboot.
- The TV is missing from a Miracast list: Confirm that both TV and sender support Miracast, start Wireless Screencasting on the TV, and enable wireless display on the sender. On a PC, check for updated compatible drivers.
- The menu does not match these steps: Find the exact model number and use its Philips support page or manual. Menu names and available protocols vary by model.
- Connection works but video does not: Copy protection may block the content even when ordinary screen sharing connects. A Philips manual for one specific TV says its Miracast implementation is subject to HDCP and cannot display copy-protected premium content sent from a device.
Model-specific limits and wired alternative
The same Philips manual documents a maximum Miracast video resolution of 720p over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and 1080p over 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Those limits apply to the TV covered by that manual, not to every Philips set or to Google Cast generally. The manual also describes Miracast as a direct link that does not require both devices to join the home network; treat that as specific to that TV rather than a general rule for all Philips models.

For one particular older Philips TV, a Philips manual describes connecting an MHL-compliant phone with a passive HDMI-to-Micro-USB MHL cable to the TV’s HDMI 1 MHL input. The phone charges while the TV is on, and the phone may need an additional adapter. Confirm that both the phone and the exact TV port support MHL before buying a cable; a generic USB-C-to-HDMI adapter is not a proven substitute.
