The national initiative is intended to build digital skills and strengthen links between training and industry. Its launch announcement named three of six flagship programmes; it did not provide a current application guide.
What is PM SkillTech Pakistan?
SkillTech Pakistan is a multi-part national digital-skills and workforce initiative announced at the “Building Tomorrow” event in Karachi. The ministry described it as a platform to help young Pakistanis demonstrate globally recognized technology skills while supporting technology companies and improving connections between education and industry. The Ministry of IT & Telecom’s launch announcement is dated 22 September 2025.
At the launch, Federal Minister for IT & Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja said the six flagship programmes would equip young people with globally competitive skills and support tech companies in achieving international compliance through stronger industry links. The announcement named three programmes but did not list all six.

The ministry’s launch announcement says there are six flagship programmes but names only Skill Bridge, C2X, and Skilllift 1.0. A ministerial website summary separately lists SkillBridge, C2X, SkillLift 1.0, Soft Skills, the GAIN graduate programme, and MARKAZ training hubs. That expanded list is from the website summary, rather than the announcement’s enumeration.
What scale and results have been reported?
At the September 2025 launch, PSEB CEO Abu Bakr said the programme hoped to train more than 2.1 million Pakistanis over the next three years. This is an announced target, not a reported number of people already trained.

PSEB later reported that 2,700 interns had been placed through Skill Bridge Phase 1 and said 9,000 more placements were expected over the next three years. The accessible PSEB post does not state its publication date. The figures concern Skill Bridge placements; they do not establish outcomes across SkillTech as a whole.
The minister’s launch remarks also cited more than 3 million Pakistanis trained through DigiSkills and IT exports above US$691 million between July and August 2025. Those were claims about DigiSkills and national IT exports, respectively—not results attributed to SkillTech.

Who can apply, and how?
The launch announcement does not establish current eligibility criteria, application dates, or an application link. It describes intended audiences for certain components—such as ICT graduates for Skill Bridge and IT firms for C2X—but that is not enough to confirm who is eligible to apply now or whether a particular intake is open. Check for a current notice from the Ministry of IT & Telecom or PSEB before relying on an application route or deadline.

What the launch does—and does not—confirm
- It confirms the programme’s stated focus on digital skills development, workforce capacity, and stronger connections between training and industry.
- It identifies five Skilllift 1.0 bootcamp subjects and describes the intended roles of Skill Bridge and C2X.
- It states a three-year training ambition and, in a later PSEB post, reports a Skill Bridge Phase 1 placement count alongside a further placement plan.
- It does not, by itself, verify current course availability, participant eligibility, application procedures, or programme-wide impact.
