Oxide Computer Company announced a $445 million Series D on October 9, 2026, led by Eclipse. Oxide says the financing will help it buy components, expand manufacturing and meet demand for its rack-scale Cloud Computer. Axios reported the round valued Oxide at $6 billion; the company’s announcement did not state a valuation.

Who invested, and what is confirmed about the round?

Oxide named existing investors US Innovative Technology Fund, Riot Ventures and Jane Street among the participants. New investors Atreides Management and AMD Ventures joined the round. The company said it would use the proceeds as working capital to secure components, increase manufacturing and serve new and existing customers. Oxide’s October 9 announcement is the source for the amount, investors and stated use of funds.

Axios reported a $6 billion valuation. That figure should be treated as Axios-reported, not as a valuation disclosed in Oxide’s release. The headline’s approximate $835 million cumulative funding figure is not independently confirmed by the sources available here, so it should not be read as a verified total.

Why raise money after reaching profitability?

In its same-day FAQ, Oxide said it reached profitability earlier in 2026, while customer demand continued to exceed supply. These are company statements, not independently audited financial results. A profitable company may still raise capital when it needs to pay for components and expand production before customer deliveries generate the corresponding revenue.

Oxide CEO and co-founder Steve Tuck said the company had scaled manufacturing capacity “by 20x over the past 12 months,” yet demand still exceeded supply. That is Oxide’s reported figure, not an independently verified measure. Tuck also said the financing would let the company invest in materials and manufacturing capacity. The immediate business rationale is therefore production capacity and component commitments, rather than a claim that Oxide needs the funds to cover operating losses.

What does Oxide sell?

Oxide’s Cloud Computer is an integrated rack-scale system for an organization’s own data center or colocation facility. It combines compute, storage, networking and software, with the aim of giving developers cloud-style self-service and APIs while the organization owns and operates the infrastructure. It is intended for organizations whose workloads or operating requirements make owned infrastructure attractive; it is not a consumer computer or a generic standalone server.

Oxide’s specifications describe a second-generation rack with up to 24 compute sleds using AMD EPYC 9005 Series processors. The vendor lists up to 30.6 TiB of guest memory and 1.7 PiB of NVMe block storage available to guests; its hardware table separately lists up to 36 TiB of memory and 6.5 PiB of storage across the rack. Those are different resource measures, and actual configurations vary. See Oxide’s product specifications for the vendor’s configuration details.

What does deployment require?

This is a major data-center installation, not equipment a company can simply place in an ordinary office. Oxide’s specifications list a maximum rack weight of about 2,518 pounds, three-phase power, cooling airflow requirements and required access clearance. Buyers need to assess facility readiness, power and cooling, installation logistics, support arrangements and component availability alongside the system’s compute and storage capacity.

Choosing an owned cloud infrastructure system also means taking responsibility for the underlying hardware and its operation. Compared with public cloud, the relevant questions include where workloads and data must run, how much control the organization needs, what operational work it can take on and whether its facility can support the equipment. Compared with conventional on-premises infrastructure, the question is how much value the integrated rack and cloud-style software provide for that organization’s workload. The available information does not establish universal savings or a quantified cost advantage.

How can public-sector buyers procure it?

Oxide announced a partnership with Carahsoft on September 24, 2026. Under that arrangement, Carahsoft would act as Oxide’s Master Government Aggregator and make the Cloud Computer available through reseller partners and the NASA SEWP V and OMNIA Partners contracts. Public-sector buyers can investigate those channels, but should confirm current contract terms, eligibility and product availability with the relevant reseller or contract administrator. Details are in Oxide’s Carahsoft announcement.

What is known about Oxide’s customers and hardware partners?

Oxide’s 2023 product launch announcement named Idaho National Laboratory and a global financial-services organization as customers at that time. This is historical evidence, not a complete or current customer list. Oxide also identifies AMD as a hardware partner, and its current specifications list AMD EPYC 9005 Series processors in the second-generation compute sleds. A processor alone is not a substitute for the integrated rack system.
