Blizzard has announced major reworks for Sombra and Roadhog in Overwatch Season 5. The confirmed detail that changes how players should read the news is Sombra’s planned move from Damage to Support. Blizzard’s announcement does not describe either reworked kit or give an individual launch date, so claims that one is the game’s “most radical” rework in years remain unverified.
What Blizzard has confirmed
In its BlizzCon announcement, Blizzard says Sombra and Roadhog will receive major hero reworks in Season 5. It explicitly says Sombra will move from Damage to Support. The announcement does not state that Roadhog will change roles.

What the “most radical” claim means
“Most radical” is not a description Blizzard uses in the reviewed announcement. Sombra’s role change is a significant confirmed change, but without details of her new abilities—or Roadhog’s—the available announcement is not enough to determine which rework will alter gameplay more, let alone whether either will be the most radical in years.

There is no named-person quote or performance statistic about these reworks in the announcement. Treat claims about specific new abilities, relative impact, or a precise arrival date as speculation unless Blizzard publishes further details.
