There is no verified, HxM-specific method for opening the Gold Room in Order of the Sinking Star. The available demo guide does not establish a required switch, puzzle sequence, location, or prerequisite. If you have found a gold-coloured area in the demo, it has not been confirmed as the full game’s Gold Room.
What is known about the HxM Gold Room?
A fan-made demo map guide, last updated September 24, 2026, does not identify a confirmed HxM Gold Room or give instructions for opening one. It distinguishes described demo content from player reports, and cautions that a gold-coloured late-game demo zone should not be assumed to be a full-game Gold Room. Read the demo map guide.
That means there is no supported basis for a step-by-step HxM route. In particular, claims that you must complete a specific world, collect a set number of items, or activate an HxM switch are not established by this guide.

The guide covers the Overworld hub and North, East, and West routes; it says the South is absent. It describes the North and East routes as available from the start. The order in which later areas open is based on player reports, not a published sequence. The guide does not establish the official name or unlock requirements of the reported gold-coloured area.

If you are trying to reach that area, use the map and available route entrances to explore, but treat any reported sequence as community-observed rather than confirmed instructions. To get help with a particular build, share your game version, current region, and the nearby map or puzzle details; without those specifics, an HxM route cannot be verified.

A separate fan explainer reports that the full-game Gold Rooms are part of a world-merging structure: reaching them can bring worlds and characters together, and clearing one bridges two realms and unlocks six dual-combination areas. That is a broad description of the full game, not evidence of an HxM opening path. The explainer’s page was not available to verify directly, so treat its details as secondary-source reporting.
