Specifications are from OPPO India’s 15 April 2026 launch announcement and Xiaomi India’s REDMI Note 17 5G specifications. The brightness figures use different labels—OPPO lists 1,400 nits, while Xiaomi gives a peak-brightness figure—so they should not be treated as a like-for-like measurement. Chipset names and process sizes alone do not establish which phone performs better; no benchmark results are available here.
Which phone has the bigger battery and faster charging?
Xiaomi lists an 8,000mAh typical-capacity battery for the REDMI Note 17 5G, compared with 7,000mAh for the OPPO F33 5G. On the stated capacity, the Redmi is the larger-battery option. OPPO lists 80W SUPERVOOC charging, while Xiaomi lists 45W wired fast charging, giving the F33 the higher rated charging wattage.

How do the displays compare?
The REDMI Note 17 5G has the larger listed screen: Xiaomi describes it as a 17.75cm TrueColour AMOLED display, in the 6.99-inch class, with 120Hz refresh and 2396 × 1080 resolution. OPPO lists a 6.57-inch flat AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both manufacturers specify 120Hz; the Redmi’s listed screen is larger.
Brightness labels are not directly comparable: Xiaomi’s 1,800-nit figure is explicitly peak brightness, whereas OPPO lists 1,400 nits without the same label in the cited material. The figures alone do not establish which screen is brighter in a particular setting.

What do the camera specifications tell you?
OPPO lists a 50MP main rear camera paired with a 2MP secondary camera and a 16MP front camera. Xiaomi lists a 50MP main rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The clearest spec-sheet distinction for selfie-focused buyers is the F33’s higher stated front-camera resolution. Megapixel counts and camera counts do not establish image quality, so they are not enough to declare a camera winner.
What do the durability ratings mean?
OPPO lists IP69, IP68, and IP66 ratings for the F33 5G, as well as MIL-STD-810H. Xiaomi lists IP65 dust and water resistance and Gorilla Glass 7i for the REDMI Note 17 5G. These are manufacturer-stated ratings and claims, not evidence that the phones were tested under identical conditions or that one will withstand every real-world accident better.

Software and update support
The F33 5G is listed with ColorOS 16, which is Android-based. Xiaomi lists HyperOS 3 for the REDMI Note 17 5G and states that this model receives four years of OS updates and six years of security updates. The update durations are Xiaomi’s stated policy for this product.
What is the India price difference?
A current price difference cannot be calculated from the official figures cited here: OPPO published launch prices, while Xiaomi’s reviewed India product pages do not state a matching price. OPPO announced these F33 5G launch prices on 15 April 2026:

These are announcement prices, not confirmed current retail prices. OPPO said the phone would be available from 26 April 2026 through offline stores, the OPPO E-Store, Flipkart, and Amazon; that announcement does not confirm present stock, offers, or pricing. Xiaomi’s India specification page lists 6GB or 8GB RAM and 128GB storage but no comparable price. To calculate a fair live difference, compare the same country and closest matching storage configuration, check both current prices, and account for whether discounts or other offers are included.
Which one should you choose?
- Consider the REDMI Note 17 5G if the listed larger battery, larger display, or Xiaomi’s stated update schedule is more important to you.
- Consider the OPPO F33 5G if you prioritize higher listed wired charging wattage, a higher-resolution front camera, or its manufacturer-listed IP ratings.
- Compare live prices before deciding on value. The available official figures do not establish a current matching price for both phones, and the OPPO amounts above are launch prices.
