For India-market buyers, the realme C83 5G lists a faster 144Hz display, while the OPPO A6 5G lists faster 45W charging, higher camera resolutions, more storage configurations and an IP66/IP68/IP69 rating. Both official spec pages list the same Dimensity 6300 chipset and a 7000mAh typical battery. A third-party comparison page displayed a ₹4,000 price gap, but that is a snapshot—not a confirmed current offer.

The C83 has the higher listed refresh rate: up to 144Hz versus up to 120Hz on the A6. Both are HD+ LCD panels at 1570 × 720, so neither has a resolution advantage in the published figures. The higher refresh-rate ceiling may matter to someone prioritizing smoother scrolling or supported high-refresh content, but these specifications do not establish how often a phone sustains its maximum rate or how it looks in use.
#1 Best Overall
- 6.75 inches, IPS LCD, 720 x 1570 pixels
- 256GB Storage, 6GB RAM, microSDXC
- Android 15, ColorOS 15, Mediatek Dimensity 6300 (6 nm), Octa-core (2x2.4 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55)
- Rear: 50 MP, f/1.8, (wide), PDAF, Auxiliary lens, Front: 8 MP, f/2.0, (wide)
The manufacturers also publish different brightness figures. OPPO lists 900 nits typical brightness and 1125 nits HBM; realme lists 700 nits typical and 900 nits HBM. These are manufacturer-stated figures, not a matched independent screen test.
Performance: same named chipset, no proven speed winner
Both phones list MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 with eight cores. realme additionally identifies the chip as 6nm. The shared chipset means the published information does not support calling either phone faster in everyday use. Software, memory configuration, thermal behavior and workload can affect performance, and no matched test results are established here.
Rank #2
- 6.57 inches, AMOLED, 1B colors, 1080 x 2372 pixels
- 256GB Storage, 8GB RAM, microSDXC
- Android 15, ColorOS 15, Mediatek Dimensity 6300 (6 nm), Octa-core (2x2.4 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55)
- Rear: 50 MP, f/1.8, (wide), PDAF, Auxiliary lens, Front: 16 MP, f/2.4, (wide)
Storage: check the exact C83 variant
OPPO lists three A6 configurations, starting at 128GB: 4GB+128GB, 6GB+128GB and 6GB+256GB. It specifies LPDDR4X memory, UFS 2.2 storage and storage-card support. realme lists 4GB or 6GB RAM with 64GB or 128GB storage, and up to 6GB dynamic RAM. Because the C83’s listed choices include 64GB, confirm the exact configuration and price at checkout rather than relying on a model-level listing.
Cameras: higher listed resolution is not a photo-quality test
The A6’s published camera resolutions are higher: its rear setup is 50MP main plus 2MP monochrome, and its front camera is 8MP. realme lists a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Megapixel counts and lens apertures do not establish which phone takes better pictures; that requires comparable camera samples or testing.
Rank #3
- 6.57 inches, AMOLED, 1B colors, 1080 x 2372 pixels
- 256GB Storage, 8GB RAM, microSDXC
- Android 15, ColorOS 15, Mediatek Dimensity 6300 (6 nm), Octa-core (2x2.4 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55)
- Rear: 50 MP, f/1.8, (wide), PDAF, Auxiliary lens, Front: 16 MP, f/2.4, (wide)
Battery and charging: equal typical capacity, different charging ceilings
Both manufacturers state a 7000mAh typical battery. OPPO also lists 6830mAh rated capacity. Capacity figures are not runtime guarantees: actual battery life depends on settings, signal conditions, apps and usage.
OPPO lists charging up to 45W SUPERVOOC and compatibility with specified lower-wattage SUPERVOOC, PPS and PD charging. realme lists up to 15W fast charging. The A6 therefore has the higher stated maximum; confirm which charger, if any, is included with the specific retail package.
Rank #4
- 6.75 inches, IPS LCD, 720 x 1570 pixels
- 256GB Storage, 6GB RAM, microSDXC
- Android 15, ColorOS 15, Qualcomm SM6225 Snapdragon 685 (6 nm), Octa-core (4x2.8 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4x1.9 GHz Cortex-A53)
- Rear: 50 MP, f/1.8, (wide), PDAF, Auxiliary lens, Front: 8 MP, f/2.0, (wide)
Each company also publishes a battery-health projection, but the claims use different methods and are not independent endurance tests. OPPO says its lab simulation projects more than 80% capacity retention after five years, based on daily behavior with a full charge/discharge about once every 1.1 days. realme describes a theoretical lab-based calculation of above 80% capacity after six years under normal-temperature conditions with once-daily charging. Neither figure should be read as a guaranteed outcome for an individual phone.

OPPO states IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings under controlled laboratory conditions. Its product page cautions that resistance can decline with wear and that liquid damage is not covered by warranty. The official realme specification page reviewed does not state an IP rating; that absence does not establish that the phone has no resistance.

Price difference: the displayed ₹4,000 gap is only a snapshot
A 91mobiles comparison page accessed in 2026 displayed ₹23,999 for the OPPO A6 and ₹19,999 for the realme C83 5G, an arithmetic difference of ₹4,000. These were third-party displayed prices, not verified official prices or guaranteed live offers, and the cited page does not establish that the compared configurations are equivalent. Check current prices for the exact RAM and storage variant before deciding. The official realme store listing surfaced a 4GB+64GB configuration, but the retrieved listing did not provide a usable price; an official OPPO price was not verified.

Which phone makes more sense?
Consider the realme C83 5G if
- You prioritize the higher listed 144Hz refresh-rate ceiling.
- A 64GB or 128GB listed storage option suits your needs, after confirming the exact variant and live price.
Consider the OPPO A6 5G if
- You want the higher manufacturer-stated charging maximum of 45W.
- You prefer the listed 50MP+2MP rear and 8MP front camera specifications, while recognizing they do not prove better image quality.
- You want a listed 256GB configuration, storage-card support, or OPPO’s published IP ratings and their stated caveats.
Do not choose between them on an assumed chipset-speed or battery-runtime advantage: the published specifications do not establish either. Compare the exact variant’s live price alongside the features you will actually use.
