Onyx lists Texas as a state where Onyx Social Sports Predictions is available. Its current Terms of Use do not name Texas among restricted territories and describe the service as not offering real-money gambling. That is Onyx’s account of its service and availability—not a Texas court or regulator’s ruling on how every feature is classified. Access still depends on eligibility and location checks.
Can you use Onyx Odds in Texas?
Onyx’s official website includes Texas in its state availability list for Onyx Social Sports Predictions. Its current Terms of Use likewise omit Texas from the restricted-territory list. These are Onyx’s representations; they do not guarantee that every user or feature will be eligible. The terms require users to be legally allowed to participate where they are located and contemplate location verification. What does Onyx mean when it says the service is not real-money gambling?
Onyx’s Terms of Use, version 2.1.1, updated August 7, 2026, state: “THIS WEBSITE AND THE SERVICE PROVIDED HEREIN DO NOT OFFER ‘REAL MONEY GAMBLING.’” This is Onyx’s description in its own terms, not an independent legal determination by Texas authorities. The terms also make participation subject to local eligibility and location checks, so the statement should not be read as a guarantee that every product feature is permitted for every person in Texas.
Are all Onyx features and accounts the same?
No. Onyx’s website describes Onyx Games LLC as supporting the platform and Onyx Predictions LLC as providing introducing-broker services. Its terms say that trading sports-event contracts through Onyx requires a NinjaTrader account. The platform’s stated company roles and account requirements matter when considering a particular feature; availability of social sports predictions does not establish that all features have identical conditions or legal treatment. What Texas law says—and what it does not decide here
Texas law provides relevant background, but the statutes do not by themselves answer how every Onyx feature is classified. Texas Penal Code Chapter 47 defines “bet” in terms of an agreement to win or lose something of value based wholly or partly on chance, subject to statutory exclusions, and sets out gambling and gambling-promotion offenses. Other laws address specific activities: Texas Occupations Code Chapter 2027 regulates wagering on horse and greyhound races, while Texas Government Code Chapter 466 covers state lottery games and bars a lottery game whose winner is selected based on the outcome of a sports event. These are distinct statutory frameworks, not a feature-by-feature ruling on Onyx.

The sources cited here do not establish a Texas judicial or regulator determination applying state law to every Onyx service. Accordingly, it is more precise to say that Onyx lists Texas as available and describes its service as not offering real-money gambling than to call Onyx a Texas-licensed sportsbook or to make a blanket legal claim about all its features.
