Screen size and refresh rate are straightforward differences: the Nord 5 has the larger panel and higher maximum refresh rate. Xiaomi lists a higher peak-brightness figure for the Turbo 5, but the measurement conditions are not established as equivalent, so that figure alone does not show which screen is easier to see in a given setting. Check each manufacturer’s current regional specifications for exact terms and availability.

What is the price difference?
A 91mobiles comparison-page snapshot accessed October 7, 2026 listed the OnePlus Nord 5 at ₹45,000 on Flipkart and the Redmi Turbo 5 at ₹41,999 on Amazon—a ₹3,001 observed gap, with the Redmi lower. Because the prices are from different retailers, they may reflect different RAM/storage variants, promotions or checkout terms. Confirm the exact configuration and final price with each seller before comparing.

OnePlus India separately advertises the Nord 5 at a starting price of ₹33,999. That manufacturer starting price is not the same measure as the retailer snapshot, and neither figure guarantees the current price or availability. Xiaomi’s September 2026 Bank of Baroda offer listed 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB Turbo 5 configurations, but the promotion ended September 30, 2026; it should not be treated as an active discount.
Which phone should you choose?
Choose the OnePlus Nord 5 if the screen and software suit you
- You want a larger display and the higher listed refresh-rate ceiling of 144Hz.
- You prefer OnePlus’s OxygenOS experience or its advertised Open Canvas multitasking features.
- You need the listed 12GB/512GB storage configuration; the cited Turbo 5 specifications list up to 256GB.
Choose the Redmi Turbo 5 if battery capacity, charging or listed protection matter more
- You value its larger rated 7,540mAh battery and 100W wired charging specification.
- You want the IP ratings and Gorilla Glass 7i listed by Xiaomi for the India model.
- You are considering Xiaomi’s India-market configuration and can confirm local warranty and seller terms.
Battery capacity and charging wattage are specifications, not guarantees of longer real-world battery life or a particular charging time. Xiaomi says the Turbo 5 can reach 51% charge in approximately 30 minutes; that is a manufacturer-stated result, not independent testing. Likewise, the phones’ processor names do not establish which performs better in sustained gaming or demanding apps.

The available specifications do not establish a neutral head-to-head winner for performance, camera quality or battery life. Xiaomi’s product-page claim of more than 2.3 million on AnTuTu is a vendor claim tied to its own methodology, not a directly comparable Nord 5 result. OnePlus also advertises gaming performance under disclosed lab conditions. Neither claim substitutes for testing both phones under the same conditions.
- For gaming, look for independent tests using the same games, settings and session lengths, and check sustained frame rates, heat and battery drain.
- For camera quality, compare sample photos and video from both phones in similar lighting. Matching headline megapixel counts do not prove matching image quality.
- For endurance, seek tests with comparable brightness, network conditions and usage. A larger rated battery does not by itself settle which phone lasts longer.
Check region, configuration and support before buying
The Redmi Turbo 5 specifications and update terms here are from Xiaomi India. Do not assume a similarly named phone sold elsewhere has the same hardware, bands, software terms or warranty. Verify the model number, supported local network bands, exact RAM/storage variant, seller, returns policy and warranty coverage for your location.
Both manufacturers state four years of Android-version or OS upgrades and six years of security updates, but their policy wording and market terms differ. Treat these as vendor commitments; they do not specify exact rollout dates for every update in every region.
