The OnePlus Nord 5 and Samsung Galaxy S24 FE suit different priorities. The Nord 5 advertises a faster 144 Hz display on OnePlus’s India page, but its battery capacity varies by market. The S24 FE adds a dedicated 3x optical telephoto camera, IP68 water resistance and a longer published software-support commitment. There is no reliable universal price difference: compare current offers for the same country and similar storage.

Specifications can differ by country and SKU. Samsung notes that storage options and availability vary by market; verify the exact Nord 5 variant as well, particularly its battery capacity. A higher refresh-rate figure does not by itself establish better overall display quality, and megapixel counts alone do not determine photo quality.

Which phone is better for your priorities?
Choose the Nord 5 if display refresh rate and charging appeal to you
OnePlus advertises a 144 Hz AMOLED display and 80 W charging on its India product page. These are useful specification differences to weigh if smooth scrolling or fast wired charging matters to you. They do not establish a head-to-head advantage in real-world performance, gaming, battery endurance or display quality.

The S24 FE has a separate 8 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom; Samsung also lists optical image stabilization on the telephoto and main cameras. The reviewed UK Nord 5 configuration instead has a main and ultrawide rear camera, while OnePlus’s India page promotes a 50 MP rear camera. The S24 FE’s dedicated telephoto gives it more specified camera versatility, but the available figures do not prove which phone takes better photos overall.

Samsung rates the S24 FE IP68. Its specification page describes laboratory conditions of up to 1.5 metres in fresh water for up to 30 minutes. This is not a guarantee against damage or protection for every water exposure, including beaches or pools.
Account for the Nord 5’s market-specific battery
Battery capacity is not consistent across the cited Nord 5 market pages: OnePlus lists 6,800 mAh for India and 5,200 mAh for Malta, and TechRadar lists 5,200 mAh for the UK-reviewed configuration. Samsung lists 4,700 mAh as the S24 FE’s typical capacity. Capacity figures alone cannot tell you which phone lasts longer; no controlled head-to-head endurance result is established here.
How long will each phone get updates?
OnePlus’s India product page states four Android version updates and six years of security updates for the Nord 5. Samsung says the S24 FE will receive seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from its global launch date. These are published commitments, not guarantees that updates arrive everywhere at the same time; rollout timing can vary by market.

What is the price difference?
The available prices are historical launch figures from different countries, storage tiers and dates, so they do not establish a current price gap. Samsung India’s 2024 launch announcement listed ₹59,999 for 8 GB/128 GB and ₹65,999 for 8 GB/256 GB. TechRadar reported UK Nord 5 launch prices of £399 for 8 GB/256 GB and £499 for 12 GB/512 GB. These amounts are not directly comparable: they are different currencies, markets and configurations, and they are not current retailer quotes.
For a useful price comparison, check both phones at the same time in your country, matching storage as closely as possible. Record the retailer’s actual price and whether it includes a discount or exchange offer; promotions and stock can vary.
