If you care most about processing power, storage headroom and a dedicated telephoto camera, the OnePlus 13R has the stronger specification sheet. The Nothing Phone (4b) is worth a closer look if its lower local price matters more to you, or if Nothing’s camera and software priorities suit how you use a phone. Which one is better value depends on what each model costs in your country for the same storage tier, and the price data available here is dated and market-specific, so it cannot settle that question on its own.

Specifications side by side

The table below uses each manufacturer’s own figures where one exists, and third-party listings where it does not. The source for each row is named in the cell, because the two phones are documented unevenly: OnePlus publishes a full specification table for the 13R, while Nothing’s product page highlights selected features for the Phone (4b).

Processing power, memory and storage

The clearest hardware gap is the chipset tier. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is a flagship platform; PhoneArena lists the Phone (4b) on Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, which sits in a different class. The gap matters most for sustained gaming, heavy multitasking and how long a phone keeps feeling quick as apps grow. The memory and storage figures follow the same pattern. Most readers will find 8GB of RAM adequate for everyday use, but the 13R’s larger memory pool gives more room for background apps and demanding games.

Two qualifications apply. First, these chipset and memory details for the Phone (4b) come from a third-party listing, not from Nothing’s full specification table. Second, no benchmark or hands-on testing was carried out for this comparison, so the article does not claim a measured speed difference in day-to-day use.

Storage is where the buying decision can change. OnePlus lists the 13R with 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage on its UK page, and that page shows only one configuration. Regional models may differ, so confirm the exact tier you are buying. The Phone (4b) starts at 128GB and cannot be expanded with a memory card, according to PhoneArena, so the base storage you choose effectively becomes your long-term capacity.

Display

Both phones offer a 120Hz panel, so refresh rate does not separate them. The 13R’s listed resolution is higher, at 2780 × 1264 pixels, against 1080 × 2344 for the Phone (4b) according to PhoneArena. Pixel density and sharpness will be easier to judge in person than from a table.

Brightness figures need careful reading. The 4,500-nit peak for the 13R is OnePlus’s own marketing specification, and the 2,000-nit figure for the Phone (4b) comes from PhoneArena’s listing rather than a measured test. Neither number is an independently measured result, and they should not be treated as equal real-world brightness.

Cameras

The 13R’s most distinctive hardware is its dedicated 50MP telephoto camera, which OnePlus lists alongside a 50MP wide and an 8MP ultra-wide. If you regularly shoot at a distance or like optical zoom flexibility, that is a concrete advantage. The Phone (4b) is marketed around its 50MP main camera and 4K video, and PhoneArena lists it as a dual-camera phone without a telephoto unit.

Specification sheets do not show how the photos look. Neither source here provides sourced image-quality testing, so the choice should rest on whether you need a telephoto lens and whether you record a lot of video, rather than on any claim about which phone takes better pictures.

Battery and charging

OnePlus documents 80W SUPERVOOC charging for the 13R, which is a clear, manufacturer-stated advantage for fast top-ups. The 13R’s rated capacity is 5,860mAh, a figure OnePlus gives alongside its 6,000mAh typical value, and it notes that battery experience varies with use, device age and other factors.

The Phone (4b) battery is harder to pin down. PhoneArena lists 5,200mAh outside India and 6,000mAh in India, but Nothing’s product page, which calls the phone its longest-lasting yet, does not confirm those regional capacities or any charging speed. If battery life is a priority, confirm the capacity for the model sold in your region before comparing. Even then, capacity alone does not predict how long a phone lasts on a charge, because software, screen settings and usage matter as much.

Size, weight and durability

By the manufacturers’ own figures, the OnePlus 13R is the more compact and lighter phone: 161.72 × 75.77 × 8.02mm and 206g, against 164.4 × 78.2 × 8.6mm and 210g for the Phone (4b). PhoneArena reports the 13R’s thickness as 8.09mm, which differs slightly from OnePlus’s figure, so the manufacturer’s value is the one used here.

For water resistance, PhoneArena lists IP65 for the 13R and IP64 for the Phone (4b). Both ratings are third-party listings in this comparison, so check each model’s official documentation for your region before relying on them, especially if you plan to use the phone outdoors or around water.

Price difference

No stable, worldwide price gap can be established from the sources reviewed. Prices depend on country, currency, storage tier, retailer and the date you check, and the figures below should be read as snapshots of specific markets rather than current prices.

Launch prices in US dollars and euros

PhoneArena lists a $600 MSRP for the OnePlus 13R and a €329 MSRP for the Phone (4b) in its 8GB + 128GB configuration. These are in different currencies, and the listing does not state which storage tier the 13R figure refers to, so subtracting one from the other gives no meaningful difference.

India listings

The 91mobiles comparison page, captured in 2026, showed the OnePlus 13R at ₹37,900 but marked it out of stock. It showed the Nothing Phone 4b at ₹31,788 through an Amazon listing. On those two listings the gap is ₹6,112, but this is not a usable price difference. The page does not confirm that both phones share a storage tier, one model was unavailable, and promotions and stock change often.

How to make a fair price comparison

  1. Pick one country and compare prices in that country’s currency only.
  2. Match storage exactly, for example 12GB + 256GB against 12GB + 256GB, or confirm that the Phone (4b) you compare is the 8GB + 128GB model if that is your target.
  3. Decide whether you are comparing manufacturer MSRPs or street prices from retailers, and use the same basis for both phones.
  4. Check that each listing is in stock at the moment you buy, and note whether a discount or bundle applies.
  5. Confirm the regional model, since the 13R’s cover glass, battery and certification details may vary by market.

Which phone fits which priorities

  • Choose the OnePlus 13R if you want the stronger chipset, more RAM and storage, a dedicated telephoto camera, 80W charging, and a more compact body by manufacturer dimensions.
  • Choose the Nothing Phone (4b) if it is clearly cheaper for the same storage tier in your market and you value its 50MP main camera, 4K video and Nothing’s software style more than the 13R’s extra hardware.
  • Verify before buying the exact region, storage tier, battery capacity and stock status, because several Phone (4b) figures and all local prices are third-party or dated.
