Ollama Cloud Free costs $0 and provides a monthly starter allowance for a smaller set of models; Pro costs $20 per month or $200 per year and includes $60 in monthly usage credits plus access to larger Pro models. The Free allowance is not quantified on Ollama’s published pages, and neither plan’s credits translate into a fixed number of prompts: Cloud usage is charged at model-specific token rates.

Ollama Cloud Free vs Pro at a glance

Plan detail Free Pro
Listed price $0 $20 per month or $200 per year when billed annually
Included monthly usage A starter amount; Ollama’s published pages do not state its dollar value $60 in usage credits
Model access Starter models; purchasing usage credits unlocks all models Includes access to larger Pro models
Concurrent requests 1 3
Included-usage reset Monthly, based on signup date Monthly, based on subscription start day, including annual plans
Unused included usage Does not roll over Does not roll over

These are Ollama’s listed terms on its pricing page, checked in 2026. Prices, model access, and token rates can change, so check the page before subscribing.

How Cloud usage and credits work

Ollama measures hosted Cloud usage in tokens and charges different rates for each model. The pricing table separates input tokens, cached input tokens, and output tokens, so the same request can incur different rates across its prompt and response. Included plan credits are a spending allowance—not a guaranteed token total or number of requests.

For one dated example, Ollama’s pricing page listed gpt-oss:20b at $0.07 per million input tokens, $0.035 per million cached input tokens, and $0.30 per million output tokens when checked in 2026. That example is specific to that model and those rates; it should not be applied to other models or treated as a permanent price.

After included credits are used, usage can continue at the published per-token rates. If you purchase additional usage credits, Ollama uses included plan credits first and purchased credits afterward. The August 31, 2026 pricing announcement describes the new plans as having no five-hour or weekly usage limits. That does not remove the separate concurrency and queue limits.

When does monthly usage reset, and do credits roll over?

Free usage resets monthly based on the date you signed up. Paid-plan included usage resets on the same day of the month your subscription began, even if you pay annually. Unused included credits do not roll into the next month.

How many requests can you run at once?

Concurrency is independent of the monthly credit balance: Free allows one concurrent request, while Pro allows three. Requests beyond that limit queue for an open slot. Ollama sets a maximum queue size, so a request may be rejected if the queue is full.

Which plan fits your usage?

Choose Free to try hosted models

Free is the no-cost option for trying the starter model selection with a monthly allowance. Because Ollama does not publish that allowance as a dollar amount on the pages checked, you cannot reliably calculate a monthly prompt or token budget from the plan description alone.

Choose Pro for larger models and a stated credit pool

Pro is the clearer choice if you need access to larger Pro models, three concurrent requests, or a known monthly credit amount. Its $60 of included usage is a spending pool, not a guarantee of a particular number of interactions. Whether the $20 monthly or $200 annual plan is worthwhile depends on the models and token volumes you use; the listed terms alone do not establish that Pro is cheaper.

Consider local inference separately

Cloud plans cover hosted inference. Ollama’s FAQ says, “Running models on your own hardware is always unlimited.” That statement concerns local inference, not Cloud allowances or hosted request limits. Ollama describes its Cloud models as working with its local tools and API, and its Cloud documentation says signing in to ollama.com is required.

What existing subscribers should check

The new Free and Pro comparison may not apply to an existing subscriber on legacy terms. In its August 31, 2026 announcement, Ollama says legacy subscribers can keep those terms by continuing to auto-renew. Changing a plan tier or billing cycle, or cancelling and later subscribing again, moves the account to the new pricing model. Check your account’s current plan and billing details before making a change.
